Never. They think they are gods. It is good point you made. Perhaps is about the time to finish this joke and get them out of their chairs and have them to do the real work.

people! the ????? is DOES NOT WHO!!!!!
yes, they pay their own bills, they also get a lot of freebees.
they also invest their own money, Loyds of London/ Real Estate
all over the world. they never carry money on their person.
NOT always does a Tax payer pay the bill. Tax money ususall y is use for general revenue, ie Estate bills( staff, up keep ect) Most of the CROWN PROPERTY uses Tax $$$$$$. BUT NO FOR PRIVATE PROPERTY ie Balmoral which used mostly volunteers from Ladies groups ect.
So if you want a summer job you can apply ( a year in advance) get a work visa then apply. Looks great on your resume.
My cousin & I did do holyrood tea/garden party. Boy what a rush!

The British royal family earns millions of pounds from its investments, castles, horses, etc. Till a few years ago, it did not have to pay any taxes on its income, but now the royal family members pay tax on their income. The family members also get an allowance from the taxpayers' money, but this also is taxed in the members' hands. It doesnt appear as if currently the royal family's bills are paid for by taxpyers.

I think it costs each UK adult £5 a year to pay for the annual costs of keeping the Royal Family - was in the news last year. Or it could have been 50 pence. It wasn't that much when spread out to all UK taxpayers.

I'm neither pro or anti British Royal Family.

No, The Royal Family does not pay any bills. The Tax payer is on the hook for their lavish life style for centuries which should be cut off and be spend on the infrastructure or social programs of its country. Remember it is not just UK that is paying for their bills, Canada, Australia, any country that still under the British Commonwealth or Queen's control are paying it too.

They pay a few million pounds in tax each year now, although in total we pay 62p per year for them, which I think is a pretty good deal, given the amount of americans, japanese and chinese people that come and spend their money here to see them, not to mention the myriad smaller nations that also show interest.

I suppose it depends on which bills you are meaning...if it's their household bills, then they pay their own...indeed the Queen is very frugal and even made Prince Edward wear Prince Andrew's old clothes, and she also had the hems turned down on his trousers when he grew too tall for them...there was a photo of him sat under a tree wearing a pair!...

The taxpayer ultimately pays the bill.Supposedly, The Queen and Prince Charles have "income" from their "estates" (ie farms in the Duchy of Cornwall, or leases on land that they hold the deeds to) but I cant see Charlie getting up at 4am to milk the cows, or The Queen popping in to collect the rent. The rest of them manage to scrape by on several hundred grand a year each of our money , and free accomodation in one of the many palaces and stately homes. They are the ultimate spongers, but apparently, work "very hard".
