I read the Da Vinci Code last year and it really opened my eyes. I never liked Christianity before (no offence) but it made me dislike it even more when I read about all the things they have covered up.
My question is: Do you believe Jesus had a child with Mary Magdalene and what are your views on Christianity?
Thanks

Odd, but this is what happened to me when I read "Satanic Versus!" but in the opposite. I use to like Islam more, but when I read Satanic Versus, it made me dislike it even more.
My question to you, do you believe everything you read? If you believe the DA Vinci Code is really, then the Satanic Versus must be too!
To easy your mind, and maybe you will stop not liking your fellow human being! the book is work of fiction, even the author said so.
Thanks

I don't believe that Jesus had a child with Mary. What would be the point of keeping it a secret?
Beware!!! The Da Vinci Code is a work of fiction! The big problem with it is that Dan Brown distorts the background. If you have a movie or book set in New York, then you would expect to see and read about the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, etc. that is the background of a story. Dan Brown has taken what we KNOW about early Christianity and distorted it. A very clear example is his statement that the gnostic gospels were the earlier gospels...that is simply not true, and there is written evidence outside of the religious community that supports this.

there is no doubt man has fudged as much as possible with Bible scripture but what u do not understand is there has always been what we knowers call the remnant, which comes from the days of Elija when Elijah said to God something like "there is no one left who follows you but me" (he was trying to get out of doing what he was ordered to do) and God said I have 44000 whom I have saved out of the nation and in that context they were called the "remnant". My point is this from the beginnning God has made certain there is a Remnant, so the amount of fudging has always been limited because these would always be there to continue to pass down the necessary truths. Even though Muhamid knew there was fudging and perhaps God worked through him to provide a clearer scripture still at any time had a person desired the whole available truth it was available as it is with study in the Bible today.
Example: the RC church long said that Jesus was not married, and yet in the scripture there is that point where Jesus tells the "disciple He loved" about Judas. If a person is looking for the truth he will see Jesus is not one who valued one disciple over another so the statement in some other way pointed to a specific follower. Also if one studies the wedding at Cana it becomes obvious Jesus was the groom because of the customs of the times and from common sense. Why would the wedding manager tell Jesus that there was a problem with the wine supply had He not been the one responsible for that.
These truths have been preserved in the scripture by the remnant.
Sorry there are so many out there who say they are Christians but act in such an off putting manner.
As to your question about Mary Magdalene if you want to know the answer then bounce the time Jesus met her off the time of the marriage at Cana and you will have one of the answers you seek. I am not just going to give you easy access because as you state you do not like Christianity and thus since this is clearly a statment which is the result of ignorance I point you in the direction of study so you be less ignorant.
Note there is still a remnant and when you are ready ask Jesus to direct you to one of these so you can study with results and if you are worthy become a knower. There are believers and there are knowers, find the differance. Knowers have never covered anything that is true. It is our function to shine light on the truth.

after reading the book, i thought over the possibilities. i think that it isnt true that jesus had a child with mary, but i am confused as to why so many people whole heartedly reject the theory. why cant jesus have been an immortal and still be a father? all other gods that have been written about were capable of bearing children- why is jesus a different case? i am a christian, and i believe that jesus was the divine son of god, but i do not doubt that there is something more to it then it says in the bible.

Jaime M does like to have his cake and eat it. The question behind the DV Code (and more so the Holy Blood and the Holy Grail which story is quite plausible) to those of us who have not closed our minds is not so much whether Jesus was married or not - in his society and position it would have been expected of him - but why the Roman Catholic church has been able to fool so many people for so long. In fact it is an easy question to answer. When you look at the obscene wealth of the RC, the immense fortune in the Vatican Museum for instance, they could not have stolen all that money from the poor peasants of Spain, Portugal and all the other Catholic countries if they had been in favour of admitting their lies and deceit, and once they told one lie, they had to tell more and bigger ones. The Catholic church has bugger all to do with Christianity - they just got in first with the propaganda.

I think it's healthy to question everything. Being from a Catholic background I am unfortunately all too aware of the hypocritical and even evil things that some individuals have got away with under the cloak of 'Christianity'. But equally, other things have also been covered-up under other banners too. What's important to us all is that we recognise good from bad and stand by our principles. Like someone else just said - so what if Jesus did have a child? Does it change anything NOW?!

Jesus was Jewish and and Jews are very keen on the boys getting married and one would have thought that had Jesus not been married this would have been mentioned in at least one of the gospels. Of course the bible only contains 4 of the gospels and there are over 30 gospels but the early christian church only included those gospels that suited what they wanted people to know.My view of Christianity is the same as any other organised religion. They are all there so that some people can have power or influence over other people. the truth is that nobody knows or ever has known the truth about how life started or what happens when you die or if there is any god. All the things the religions say are just myths.

The DaVinci Code is a complete pack of lies, from the first page to the last. The first lie is at the very beginning where it implies the book is based on fact.
There are literally so many lies in this book that there's not enough space to expose them all here. However, there are many great Christian apologetic web sites that have articles debunking the DaVinci Code. Here are a few:

No, I don't believe Jesus was ever married OR had a child with anyone. To father a child, He would have had to break Leviticus 15; since He was a perfect, sinless, undefiled Person, then He never broke Leviticus 15. Since He never broke Leviticus 15, it would be impossible for Him to have fathered a child.
Contrary to what at least one answerer has written, celebacy for God's sake WAS a recognized, approved choice in Jesus' day.
Peace.

~~~ Kaus ,,,, Christianity is a conglomeration of Borrowed motifs, characters, events, etc. It's basis can be found primarily in it's precursor Zoroastrianism. In this Mythology the Messiahnic/World Savior is named Saoshyant,,, and if you study this character's role and events, among others, you will clearly see it's just too much of a Coincidence. The da Vinci Code is simply fiction Loosely based on fact.
The Fiction book The Da Vinci Code was a work of fiction.if Christ did have a child of his own it wouldn't change anything in my mind. God has billions of children and he is still God.But the roman Catholic church has covered many things up, or just plain made them up, over the years, but that does not make ALL christian religions false.
