Because thought the easter bunny looks real good and chocolaty, we have found it is only a hollow shell.
Jesus, one the other hand is what fills the hollow shell that was once me.

You are now embarrassing yourself by exhibiting your anti-intellectual ignorance. Seriously, you should really do some research before you go on Yahoo! Answers and start typing. As a Christian I do not believe in the easter bunny because he has no historical record. History can confirm that Jesus Christ not only existed but performed the most incredible feat in history, the resurrection of himself from the dead. I would like to make this observation. When a person appeals to language such as "stupid", "fairy tale", "easter bunny", etc., as their basis for judging the historical reliability of a person or event, it is a red flag indicating they have done little to no historical research. So my question in return would be what historical evidence has led you to the conclusion that Jesus is a myth? Do you even have any? A man named Simon Greenleaf was of two men who developed Harvard Law's principles for establishing evidence. He set out to prove the resurrection was a myth in an attempt to invalidate Christianity. In the end, he came to the conclusion that there is more evidence for the resurrection of Jesus Christ than perhaps any other event in history. History is awesome, for those who use their brains.

Furry Little Mav, I can't give ratings yet, but I love your answer. It is so true. Its easy to dismiss Jesus as a fairy tale without doing your homework. If you do, I think you'll be disturbed with what you find. There is very much evidence for the true seeker. Really, could a worldwide religion exploded the way it did on the testimony of twelve men if Jesus was still dead and their stories of His resurrection was really a lie? These are facts of history. These men died for saying they (along with hundreds of others) saw Jesus alive from the dead. Men will not die for what they know is a lie. And even if one did, would all twelve had done so with no recantations? The answer is no. There is much more evidence, but the greatest of all is that the living Jesus comes into people's hearts today and makes them a new person and gives them new life.

Statements like yours is ignorance as even secular historians agree that Jesus existed and was a big over 2000 years ago. Much of the important archaeological discoveries came from studying of the scriptures. There is lots of history of real countries, cities, dynasties, laws, cultures, customs, people, deities, faiths even other than Judaism and Christianity recorded in the Bible. Even certain people who were recorded in the Bible who were said to not really exist, later archaeologists have found they really did live. More has been found to prove the Bible than disprove it - and people have tried to. That is why even today globally the Bible has such an impact on people.
You can shut your eyes, your choice but the Bible is the most fascinating book that no other surpass and factual.

Very simple answer really...maybe you can choose a better comparision next time? People ask this a lot or why we dont believe the Tooth Fairy or Santa Claus but if you think about it, you would believe in them also if no one fessed up as to being the one leaving you gifts and money under your pilllow. If as a child your parents told you about Santa, and on Christmas morning you had gifts under the tree, you would naturally believe them right? And then a few years down the road, you catch mom putting the gifts under the tree, you approach her and she confesses. Then you no longer believe in Santa right?
Well the same works for God, however..... no one else has come along saying "God didn't create the Universe, I did" or "God didnt answer your prayers, I did" You can still choose not to believe in Him but, then you have no answers to too many questions. A better example for you to ask though would be "Why do you believe in Jesus and not Krishna?" This would be a much more intelligent question and acceptable comparison.

Because we know from contemporaneous records and archaeology that an itinerant preacher/movement leader named iήσouς(Jesus) existed (references in Tacitus and Josephus, as well as the find of Peter's house in Capernaum, Israel.)
People would do well to learn a little about their subject matter before copy-pasting something off the Internet: usually, grab bag generic insults they are far too easily led to believe are clever.

people want to believe that there is a higher power in their lives, theyre never alone and someone is feeling what theyre feeling. They want to believe that everything atleast has an opportunity to get better. I do believe in Jesus because hes a savior and he IS with us at all times. The easter bunny just gives you a basket. God gives you ur life and everything in it. He is the reason my very being exists and the people I love the most exist

Religious beliefs are based on faith in Christ alone. No one who believes in Jesus believes that the bible is a fairy tale, and it takes a quite historically unaware individual to think that the bible wasn't written at all. Documents have always existed to recod history, and the bible is one of them. Whether or not people take the living Christ out of that, that is their own issue. The easter bunny has never existed and there is no documentation that he/she/it has. 80% of the world believes that Jesus Christ lived (without religious affiliation), so I would advise the rethinking of your question.

I think you are showing your own ignorance. Study archaeology, exegisis, and Josephus' history.
As to the Easter bunny, it's a delightful tale & tradition.

It is very rude and assumptive that you know smarter than 1/3 of the population of the world. I'm sorry that youre incapable of opening your heart mind body and soul to something bigger than yourself. I could believe all day long that the earth was flat, doesn't mean I am right, and others are stupid.
