This is supposed to be a place where i can ask questions and people give answers, right? Okay so i know that i'm new at this but does anyone else feel like people should only answer questions if they really care. So i posted a question about my little brother and i was crying wheni wrote it and i wasnt paying attention to spelling or grammer and some women had the nerve to tell me that from my grammer i was immature. I am wrong to want to vent about this? Is she wrong for thinking she knows me? Honetly i just feel like if you want to answer someones question you should really care about the question and not judge them unless that what they ask you to do!

Well, honestly.. I try to read past any misspelling and grammar and if I understand the question or have an answer that might help, I go for it. Sorry, someone upset you even more than you already were at the time. Best if you can, just ignore them and move on. Hope everything has worked out for you.

Spelling and grammar are always important to good communication. That's why Yahoo provides the spell check, to encourage this.

But of course, you are given a "bye" - once - if you were too upset to do anything but just get the question out. Sorry that someone came down on your style vs. giving you a good answer.

Using good grammar and spelling also makes it much easier on your readers/answerers, and shows you care enough to be courteous.

I agree. Unless a question posted is in regard to grammar, then answers should not correct any mistakes in that regard.

Unfortunately, there are always going to be "point gamers" on a site like this, who see an easy way to make two points by making you feel yet worse about your situation by pointing out any little shortcoming they find.

you are 100% correct. It is true that improper spelling and grammar annoys some people but really, as long as the answers can understand what is being asked, spelling and grammar does not matter. Ignore the rude comments and focus on the ones that are actually answering your questions. :)

If you don't want to be judged, don't post a question in a public forum.

And yes, you should be criticized for poor spelling and grammar since there is a "check spelling" button in the right-hand corner AND it is incredibly difficult attempting to decode a poorly written question.

There is no excuse for poor English.

I read both your question and her answer and it looks as though she felt that you were judging all young people and she was telling you she felt you were to young to judge all young people. If you make a statement you will not always get the answer you want. Also don't let others answers to you effect you. We don't always come off they way we ment too

Don't take anything anyone says here personally. Some people get a kick out of demeaning other people.
