I don't know about religion, but science doesn't bother defining terms for things that have never been shown to exist.

i'm Catholic and as I know it, all living issues have souls, even flora. The soul is the existence theory, with the intention to communicate. A spirit is in actuality a soul which could think of. So God is a spirit, and guy, when you consider that he's made in God's photograph, has a soul that's a spirit. All spirits are souls, yet no longer all souls are spirits.

In religions, the soul is something that only God knows what it is, and the body is the only thing that dies not the soul, the soul come out of the body and go to heaven or hell.
In science, they've still amazed by this miracle of God and cannot define it.

Genesis 2:7 says God made man out of dust from the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life, and man came to be a living soul.
So, a person is a soul ....as opposed to HAVING a soul.
The spirit is that which keeps the soul alive, meaning a vacuum cleaner without electricity can sit there, but it doesn't go.
Human souls (people) don't work without that spark of life the Bible calls spirit.

No difference between the two in Science. They are simply the life-force of the person.

In most religions, the spirit of a person is the
Real Self, it is who they really are. And the soul of a person is the intellect, will, and emotions.

Science deals with the natural world. Souls and spirits are supernatural. Therefore these two terms are not defined in scientific terminology.
