Geesh! I am, I feel like getting that megaphone and smacking him on his loud a-ss! Why is he soo annoying? I hate it how he gets all sentimental ( I think he just does it for TV).

I do because when I was little, I went to the mall for Christmas shopping with my mom and when I saw those toys in a bag she was taking home with us, my belief in Santa faded away.
Last year, my Uncle just gave it away when he just came near the Christmas tree with some gifts and put them under it.
Isn't saying Santa giving you a gift instead of you giving the gift lying?

I was raised in Truth. With professing family and firends. and am still professing myself although there have been some times when I cose my own way as opposed to Truth and what I knew to be right. Recently my brother who no longer attends meetings or professes was looking for some information on line and found some sites about Truth. Unfrotunately the are very negative. Does anyone out there know of any that are out there that are positive and could be a help?

Wow, thank you so much for composing such a detailed and thoughtful reply to my recent message. So where are you hiding that PhD degree? You have incredible insights and ability to drill down to the nuances most anyone would miss. I knew you were special...this example just continues to reveal that fact. Yet I am still astonished and even swept away by the depth of feedback you have given me. That you care enough to even take the time, the kind effort & thought, is impressive. But the ability you possess for finding a subjective meaning, is brilliant.

I've had to read your reply several times, just to take it all in. Some points you make I might disagree with initially, but actually you're probably right even if I don't want to admit it. I don't see myself as complex enough, emotionally, to have "innermost" feelings of any kind. Whether it is fear, as you state-- or simply the fact I am a "loner," there is a major tendency on my part to avoid emotions and personal connections. You haven't taken it as a personal insult that I am like this, although you easily could have started finding fault in response if you were a different kind of person. But since you are a wise, caring, brilliant man, you actually see that there is more than meets the eye when figuring out why people do the things they do.

I hope maybe we can talk or chat later, but if not, I will get back with you sometime soon.

I was taught religion as a youngster,but the FEELING never entered me .
I know I am an Atheist but I want to keep my religious friends .so I go when asked to church with them.
I go through the motions and do what everyone else does .

Civilized people all agree that Murder and rape are evil. This is a basic law of morality. My question was "The Laws of Nature and Laws of Morality were not created by men. So, where do atheists believe they came from?"

Another person answered that they believed that the laws of nature were created by men. But, did not the law of gravity exist before a man said that it did?

Some little teenage girl is on here saying she is depressed and anorexic she exercises too much and she can figure out how to lose more weight. I know there are those people, that if they are not happy they don’t want to see anyone else happy. It seems to me the so called Christian conservatives need to think about one thing before they vote about marriage for gay people or not. If you are married you commit to one person, but if there is no marriage you sleep with all you want to. I should know because before I got married (I live in Massachusetts, and have been married for over two years), I slept with a lot of people. Many of whom proclaimed they were ‘straight’ but in fact in secret they slept with me.
So if they vote for gay marriage and allow gays to be married, maybe the gay people won’t sleep so much with so many ‘so called straight people’ because they are allowed to partner with another gay person. Or maybe that is why there is so much opposition to gay marriage, those that oppose it so strongly secretly don’t want gay people to stick to just other gay people. You can’t tell me that ‘straight people’ don’t mess with gay people because I have slept with many ‘so called straight people’!

I try not to blame all americans or certain nation's but americans always have seem abit stuck up. I know everyone is different and yes we have snotty canadians, but I have not met ONE nice american, I have worked hotels for years and every one that has come through has a snotty attitude like they own the world, even the americans on here seem like that too...Im gonna get smashed by this post but I don't care, I am curious as to find out why they are like this, does anyone know?

I have a lot of morals and values, and because of this, there are many "ordinary" things that I do not partake in. Here's a short list:

I very seldom drink alcoholic beverages.
I don't smoke.
I don't use recreational drugs or pot.
I don't have, or admire, any tattoos or body piercings.
I don't dance.
I don't gamble.
I don't "play the field."
I don't party.

Am I weird? I'm not a religious fanatic. I just enjoy being very conservative and reserved. Are there others out there, like me, and if so, where are they?

Okay, i just plain don't get it. Everywhere i go i hear people say, "I have to take a crap." Aside from being rude in more than a few cases, it's outright disgusting. Personally, and i hope i represent more than a few people, I have NEVER taken a crap. I always choose to leave it instead.

Maybe you can provide insight?
