I think Ty is wonderful and I think what he does is wonderful.
Another good thing he does is educate people about ADD and show them what the "grown-ups" turn out like.
I am a lot like him & have even been accused of having ADD. Not only am I upbeat and "hyper", but I get sentimental at the drop of a hat. It's all part of how God made me and I try to make the most of it. Some people really live life to the fullest. I think Ty is one of them!

Evidently the show's producers want that megaphone, but the people on the show seem to be annoyed [and deafened] by it. People cringe, plug their ears, especially when he yells in their ears.
Hey, write to the show, and tell them your ears hurt when the people on the show cringe away from the megaphone. Maybe if he used it more appropriately, I would not mind so much.
Being deafened while you are trying to help someone out, even if you are getting paid to help, is not a reward.
I do not mind the sentimental stuff, they all cry. It is awful, to see how some people have to live, and what kind of horrible things they go through. And you are right, some of the kids rooms are not nearly so cute these days. They are not as elaborate. Perhaps they were spending too much time and money on them, some really were way over the top.
I wish I could remember the families name, but I remember them, more than all the others. Big family, lot's of kids. Even in the post show interview, they were still amazed that someone would do something, anything, for them. They seemed so genuinely grateful.
I would like the show to have a bigger purpose, for all of us to see what poverty and hardship is first hand, and see someone, even on a TV show, where the people get paid to help others, be compassionate. Maybe we will all remember, and be generous and helpful. I guess that is why that megaphone bugs me. I don't want to see people turned off of the show, or of the giving spirit.
Hey, good question!

His name is Ty. I have always hated his extreme annoying yelling, but it revs people to work so that they can get him to shut up. I think the sentimental stuff is real though. He wouldn't be doing it if he didn't believe in the show.

I use to work at Sears when he had a line of home decor there, his voice over the annoucements got very annoying after awhile. I've never really watched the show to judge him as a host.

It's part of the show. Accept it. These people do a great service to others that are in serious need. He does get sentimental. It's a part of him that is real.

I am not annoyed by him, In fact I love guys who have that kind of energy, with them you will never get bored. I like guys that make me laugh...and he seems to be charming with all that hyperactivity!

I actually had the opportunity to meet him when he came to Orlando to build a home for a woman. He was very kind, extremely energetic and actually very humble.
