Sesame Street because it has been around for 40 years and continues to educate children about the world in a manner they can relate to.

Seseme Street. The reason is the things they do and teach, which not only teach things but also teaches manners! I have seen no other children's program which teaches manners and being polite. A close second is Mister Rodgers, again, a program teaching manners.
I say Seseme Street with Mr. Rogers a very close 2nd.
As an aside, and something you might learn something from, consider Beakman's World, if you get it where you are. Science and technology wrapped into one, in a gradeschool mentality and vocabulary.

Sesame Street because it's old school and sticks to the basics. Of course I also use to like Reading Rainbow because I loved story time as a kid. Books are better then TV any day!

Sesame Street was always an excellent show for children. It contains all decent material and teaches children at the same time.

There was a study once that children raised watching Sesame Street were ahead of their non watcher peers when they started school.

I like Blue's clues, because besides teaching things like alphabet, numbers, and science, it also teaches kids how to think, how to put ideas together. That's a valuable skill most other shows miss.

Sesame Street. It's still pure, and 99% religion-free.
