Animals serve several purposes. They bring joy to the lives of many people. They are a good source of protein. And they reflect the creativity of God. Remember, NOTHING has NO purpose. Just because something does not have a soul does not mean it has no value. It has different value.

Heaven was created for people, and not for anything else. It says that in the Bible somewhere AFAIK. Animals do not have the ability to accept or reject God, so the eternal reward of heaven is not possible.
I love my pets, but they won't goto heaven. I'll enjoy how they make my life happier on earth.

Why did he save them by placing them with Noah on the ark? Man has dominion over animals - not the other way around but people spend $$$$$ on their pets and allow humans to die.

I happen to know all my pets that have passed on are on the other side waiting for me. Of course animals have souls. How sad that you don't think they do.

the same reason we don't give pottery or any other inanimate objects the ability to speak. its annoying. like furbies.

How do you know that?
Since we can't communicate with them, we can't tell for sure that critters don't have souls.
Anyway, they're good for lots of things, companionship, transportation, food.....
