In what ways do you set an example that would draw people to listen to the teachings of the Christian faith?

(I was surprised to get no obviously Christian answers to a similar question. So this one is focused just for you.)

Men have more rights regarding divorce than do women

Divorced women shall wait concerning themselves for three monthly periods. Nor is it lawful for them to hide what Allah Hath created in their wombs, if they have faith in Allah and the Last Day. And their husbands have the better right to take them back in that period, if they wish for reconciliation. And women shall have rights similar to the rights against them, according to what is equitable; but men have a degree (of advantage) over them. And Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise," (2:28)

Muslim men may marry up to four women, but no such provision is made for Muslim women.

"If ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans, Marry women of your choice, Two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess, that will be more suitable, to prevent you from doing injustice," (4:3).

A man's inheritance should be a portion of two females

Allah (thus) directs you as regards your Children's (Inheritance): to the male, a portion equal to that of two females: if only daughters, two or more, their share is two-thirds of the inheritance; if only one, her share is a half," (4:11).

It is okay to beat wives

"Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard. As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (Next), refuse to share their beds, (And last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them Means (of annoyance): For Allah is Most High, great (above you all)," (4:34).

In Paradise, voluptuous women await men for sensual gratification

"In them will be (Maidens), chaste, restraining their glances, whom no man or Jinn before them has touched," (55:56).

"We have created (their Companions) of special creation. And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- For the Companions of the Right Hand," (56:35-38)

"Verily for the Righteous there will be a fulfillment of (the heart's) desires; Gardens enclosed, and grapevines, And voluptuous women of equal age," (78:31-33).

Galileo was convicted of heresy for saying the earth wasn't the center of the universe

HE WAS RIGHT! THE CHURCH WAS WRONG!

The old Testament is full of scientific, historical and moral insanity. A flat earth, slavery, despotism, genocide, child abuse. Of course, being the word of god, this book is 100% accurate EXCEPT that with the coming of Jesus, none of this stuff applies? Huh?

SO FIRST EVERYTHING GOD SAID WAS RIGHT, THEN IT WAS WRONG!

Enter the new testament, established by the miraculous gifts of from god in the first century. The new testament contains numerous references to the inferiority of women as well as absurdities like all prayers shall be answered, ask and ye shall receive, (tell that to the Tsunami or 9-11 victims) as well as passages that advocate outright stupidity, like drinking snake venom.

So as we advance as a culture, we are once again finding that the information presented in the bible (version II) is

NOW WRONG!

Is anyone seeing a pattern here?

We hear that people saying looks shouldn't be matter or should be the least of concern when it comes to attracting the opposite sex. Yet, we see in today's society that we value surface of a person more than the substance or personalities. Some examples are hollywood where majority of the actors and actresses are comprised of "above average" looking people. We have polls like who's the sexiest male or females. The impact of media is huge on ordinary people where many women go through plastic surgery to attain the "celebrity looks". We can not deny the fact that we as human beings are obsessed with aesthetic. Even when someone says, " Looks is not a deciding factor for me when it comes to going out with someone." This is a bs. Would that person go out with someone with good looks and incredibly attractive personality or the ugly counterpart? And to conclude my argument, I belive that in today's society, surface has become more than eye-pleasing but something of a value. Your opinion?

I'm not a christian but I was just reading over romans and came across chapter 7 and was wondering how women could follow a religion that was so male shovanistic_____Also I'd like some of the christians to remember this in future answers Romans 12:14 Bless those who persecute you: bless and do not curse. Some of you seem to only follow some aspects of your religion. that must be a pretty sweet deal. I try to be respectfull to all, But you have to question in a search for knowledge. Don't take it so personal.

I came from the background where all the children were required to learn poems by heart since the very early age. So there're plenty of them that can be "performed" by every adult.

But when it comes to the world literature - I can recall only "to be or not to be", some anthems and "take me out to the ball game" :)

What about the rest poetry? Any other eminent pieces?
