Shh! Don't tell anyone but I actually don't spend very much on them for Christmas. To tell the truth, and I hope my family doesn't read this, I get a lot of junk from people I never use or that just sits around my place. I try to regift as much as I can, no sense throwing away a perfectly good toaster or dustbuster when someone else might need it. But I ask first, to make sure it is wanted.
I also jar green salsa evey year and send it to close friends and family. So honestly, I don't spend a whole lot, but I hope people enjoy what i give them.

My parents usually spend $100 or less on each kid. YEah I think that some people spend to much on Christmas but I try not to judge anybody. After all Christmas is a celebration of Jesus's b-day not Santa Claus.

I think most of us spend more than what we planned to. I "try" to look for sales and shop around for the cheapest prices. I have 2 children and I try to limit myself to $400-$500 each. The things they want is so expensive especially with a teen and pre-teen. Then there's hubby..that's about $300 and then my mom and brother...another $200.00.maybe less. There are alot of nieces and nephews on my husbands side of the family so we settled on just buying for the kids and that is $50.00 limit each. I would say I spend close to $2,000 but we would have to start soon so we don't feel it.

I try to keep the spending to a minimum. We are always on a tight budget. I try to do more "homey" things than buy gifts. Last year I crocheted blankets for all of my family. It took a lot of time, but it was something special and was very affordable.
