I am considering relocating from New Jersey to another state. I would like to live in suburbs within 20mins of a big city. I would like a place that has a quaint downtown area with Pubs and shopping. The kind of place that gets into having a nice 4th July and Xmas parade down main street. A place within and hour of Airport and 30mins of hospital. A place where crime is low. A place where purchasing a nice home for $300K is possible. A place where a single guy could meet a good woman and raise kids.

Any ideas or thoughts would be nice. Please don't send links to Forbes Top Places to Live, etc... I am looking for real peoples opinions. Perhaps name the town & state you think highly of and a small blurb about your thoughts of it. Thanks in advance.

I was just wondering why Halloween has been 'black balled'. Why is it considered an 'other' holiday? Is it because some people don't celebrate it, or think it isn't right? Just wondering what everyone else thinks.

) "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting." Micah 5:2 The gospel of Matthew (Matthew 2:5-6) claims that Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem fulfils this prophecy. But this is unlikely for two reasons.

A) "Bethlehem Ephratah" in Micah 5:2 refers not to a town, but to a clan: the clan of Bethlehem, who was the son of Caleb’s second wife, Ephrathah (1 Chronicles 2:18, 2:50-52 & 4:4).

B) The prophecy (if that is what it is) does not refer to the Messiah, but rather to a military leader, as can be seen from Micah 5:6. This leader is supposed to defeat the Assyrians, which, of course, Jesus never did. It should also be noted that Matthew altered the text of Micah 5:2 by saying: "And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Judah" rather than "Bethlehem Ephratah" as is said in Micah 5:2. He did this, intentionally no dou

Where is the chapter and verse that says God condemned Solomon for having so many wives and concubines?

I don't care whether his wives and kids squabbled after he was dead. I don't care if Israel went to ruin after he was dead. I want to see if you have something on Solomon while he was alive.

Or is all this complaining just sour grapes that God allowed Solomon to have so many wives and concubines, -and- made him rich to boot? Are you whining about how God blessed this man? Are you finding fault with God?

It's more fun, whenever you find an interesting plot turn in the Bible, it's more fun to turn to a new page, and pick up readin there. Much like the Choose Your Own Adventure books of the 80's. In my adventure I got eaten by lions, and then ressurected in the end, and I think I saved mankind.

Many "christians" say that God (Jesus Christ)loves everybody. But the Bible does not support that statement! Psalms 11:5 states, "The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth." We also read in Psalms 5:5, "The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity."
There may be some that are saying that I am using just the Old Testament but look what God says in Romans 9:13, "As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated." And this was before Jacob and Esau were even born (Romans 9:11). I know that there are no contradictions in the Bible.

Checking out Second Chronicles, chapters 1-9, I found no wrong in him. God loved him, rewarded him exceedingly for his faith, granted him wisdom (mind you, -God- granted him wisdom, a flawless gift), he ruled forty years and died rich and much loved, with more wives and concubines than any other man I've ever heard of.

So, why do -you- judge him harshly for having so many wives and concubines? If God blessed him, who are you to condemn him? If he had God-given wisdom, don't you think he knew what he was doing with all these wives and concubines?

Im not sure why this question isnt getting the response... Here is the example I am looking for - I KNOW pork is forbidden, but are PORK PRODUCTS such as foods containing gelatin also forbidden - gelatin is in Jello, candies, etc...I also know VANILLA EXTRACT is forbidden because of its alcohol content...does that in turn mean that devoutly practicing muslims cannot have vanilla coffee or vanilla ice cream?

PS...Im not looking for bigoted answers here, I am hoping to hear from a Muslim or someone familiar with all forms of Islam that can help me with my research. Thank you
