Checking out Second Chronicles, chapters 1-9, I found no wrong in him. God loved him, rewarded him exceedingly for his faith, granted him wisdom (mind you, -God- granted him wisdom, a flawless gift), he ruled forty years and died rich and much loved, with more wives and concubines than any other man I've ever heard of.

So, why do -you- judge him harshly for having so many wives and concubines? If God blessed him, who are you to condemn him? If he had God-given wisdom, don't you think he knew what he was doing with all these wives and concubines?

I don't know that much about the subject, but it was my understanding that Jesus changed the way people are to behave in marriage. The passages with polygamy are in the old testament and Jesus' new way of life was in the new testament.
Like in these passages:
Hebrews 12:
24 to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

1 Kings 11:9 God came to hate him because of his taking so many foreign wives. In the end he lost God's favor and blessing.
The law strictly forbid multiplying wives and horses.
Horses were strictly for war.

a side note...

A very famous queen of another country, known as the Queen of Sheba, heard of the great wisdom and riches of Solomon, but thought it couldn't possibly be true. So she decided to visit Solomon to find out for herself. You know, that's the way some people are about the Bible. They just can't believe that all the wonderful things in it are really true. But, we know that whatever the Bible says is true!

The Bible tells us about a king who is much more wonderful than Solomon. He is King Jesus. King Jesus is wiser than Solomon, richer than Solomon, more powerful than Solomon. And just like Solomon, but in a much better way, King Jesus will be a King of peace.

It's interesting to read about King Solomon, but how much better it will be to enjoy all the good things that King Jesus will do for the people! The Bible tells us this, and we know that the Bible is true.

we are actually not solomon. In genesis, observe the point is desperate: Genesis 2:22 "as a result a guy shall bypass away his mum and dad and cleave unto his spouse (SINGULAR) and that they are going to be ONE FLESH. because of the fact me did that did not say that it had God's stamp of approval. different scripture states a guy and spouse additionally, not better halves. Like: a million Corinthians 7:3 permit the husband render due benevolence unto the spouse. particular, if anybody can't discipline His flesh, permit him get married, yet even the scriptures you published talk unto ONE spouse. it quite is extra desirable to have one spouse, it is the way God meant it, there became Adam and Eve and no different husbands or better halves to that union, God blessed that marriage. Many different scriptures talk of one spouse. a million Peter 3:7 provide honor unto the spouse because of the fact the weaker vessel. those talk of one spouse, not poly.

It's only observation, not judgement. The result was jealousy and other nasty problems with the wives and kids.

Besides, having wisdom is no guarantee that a person is going to use it.
