Sometimes the prohibited has an allure all its own. It's why naked women in porn sell better than naked women in famous art, even if there's no substantial difference in what the naken women are doing or what they look like.

Fermi's summed it all up very well. For me, I think the key element is control. A lot of people get turned on by ceding - not relinquishing - control to another person, and if that person is someone they're sexually attracted to, the arousal is all the more intense.
