Not only are pork products such as jello forbidden, but some Muslims will not eat pizza from a restaurant because the same pans and knives are used for the pepperoni pizzas (contains pork) as well as for the non-pepperoni pizzas. Same for Wendy's because of bacon burgers. Regular burgers are made on the same grill. Burger King uses lard. Keebler and Nabisco cookies contain lard. Some cheese is made with swine pepsin. Some paper plates are coated with a substance containing pork products.
Vanilla beans are not a problem. I think that Breyer's vanilla icecream is made with the beans (you can see flecks) rather than the extract.
There are lists on Islamic websites which should be more specific see the references below. Permissible foods are listed as "halal". Forbidden foods are listed as "haram". Islamic dietary laws are not as strict as Jewish kashrut (kosher) laws. Therefore, Muslims may eat any food labeled "U" or "K" designating that it is kosher. Masbooh is food with unknown ingredients so it is unknown whether it is haram.
When slaughtering an animal it is blessed. Therefore, when Jews slaughter an animal they bless it according to their tradition and kill it according to their tradition. Depending upon the Muslim community, this may be permissible because the God of Abraham is the same regardless of what a person calls him. According to some Muslim communities, the animal must be slaughtered evoking the name of Allah. This is called zabihah.

I would imagine anything to be eaten that has any type of pork product in it would be forbidden, including jello. Not sure on the candles, since people don't usually eat candles, but theres an exception to every rule. As for the vanilla, I'm guessing that its okay to eat vanilla ice cream, especially considering that most vanilla used is fake anyway, so sticking to the cheaper brands would probably be the way to go.

It's forbidden to eat any thing that's ham, pork, pig - related as an ingredient in any food that's why you'll find products like meat and even biscuits for example with "halal" written on the cover means none of the above ingredients are in it so it is "allowed" and even it's safer to ask the chef or the workers in a restaurant that serves forbidden foods and drinks to cut and serve food on in and with clean plates knives and that.
Also animals that were found dead you are not allowed to eat these as a Muslim, also animals that were slaughtered without mentioning Allah's name first. Fish that were found dead are allowed to be eaten.
Food slaughtered by "Ahlel ketab" which means people with the book, holy book, like Christians and Jews is ALLOWED to be eaten by Muslims.
Anything with blood any it is not allowed unless you clean it real thorough.
Also forbidden to eat or drink anything with wine in it, some add wine and stuff like that to food and chocolate and that.
It can be really difficult sometimes for Muslims living outside the Middle East esp. if they live with people who are not familiar with Quran law and rules for Muslims.

i'd imagine something to be eaten that has any variety of pink meat product in it will be forbidden, mutually with jello. no longer confident on the candles, in view that human beings do not many times eat candles, yet theres an exception to each and every rule. As for the vanilla, i'm guessing that its alright to eat vanilla ice cream, especially thinking the reality that maximum vanilla used is fake besides, so sticking to the more cost-effective producers would probable be a thanks to pass.

of course you know any from of alcohol is forbidden.. anything that is intoxicating is forbidden...certain mouthwashes..all i can say is that you need to thoroughly read the ingredients on products that you buy.. it is time consuming to do that but is worth it..
for example i was looking to buy some turkey bacon and while reading some packages i found that some add pork bacon fat to it...so here i am reading every single package to make sure of what i am buying...good luck

Some vanilla ice creams are made with whole beans, not extracts, and so don't contain alcohol.
