Please don't be quick to answer, please go through these:

1.How would anyone get AIDS if he obeyed this?

Mark 10:19 ...Do not commit adultery...

and Act 15:29 "That you abstain from... fornication(pre-marital sex): from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well...

We all know the spread of HIV is mainly through sex.

2. How would we have wars if we obeyed this?

Matthew 5:44 "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;"

3. How would anyone be poor if we obeyed this?

God hates unfair business practices:

Prov 11:1 "A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just(fair) weight is his delight."

God loves hardwork:

God hates greed:

I wonder because I like to be nice to people. But it seems that when I'm nice to girls, by talking to them, laughing, enjoying conversation, once they realize I'm married, it could be considered a bad thing to do. Some may feel I'm flirting. But I treat everyone, guys, girls, old people, young people, all with the same niceness. When I used to flirt when dating, I get right to the point & make it very clear that I'm flirting, & with an obvious purpose. But many may think I'm flirting by just being nice.

& I don't want to have to feel I should treat women any differently than anyone else, I feel I should be nice to everyone all the same.

Has anyone else had this problem? And what is the line between being nice and flirting? Explain your situation with it, I'm curious to know.

It seems as if this all varies from person to person, and so someone out there is gonna feel that your flirting, and someone else may think your just being nice when you really ARE flirting.

Thoughts?

i have been thinking about this when i saw the film of "Kill Bill 2" when Uma was buried alive in a box with a flashlight. the craziness feeling a person would feel would be like hell. other tortures i think that would be really cruel would be slowly crushed centimeter at a time til your head expoded.....being tied behind a car and being dragged at different speeds......being on a plane thats about to crash.

As we cant prove things abt religion scientifically or at least logically right. I sorta want to find out what it is exactly about religion that gives people such peace of mind. Can we prove some things abt humans and their spiritual needs like how humans behave, how their minds work, things like that?

Why is it that when i see any question that questions your beliefs,
morals, or the history of your religion. i can be guaranteed to see several posts that are not much more than 2 or 3 pages that are cut and pasted directly out of the bible?

Do you not actually have an answer, so you just type a few keywords into an electronic bible and post all responses?

do you have an answer but you believe that the bible will answer it better?

if this is the case why not put it onto your own words and give refrences?

more people will actually read what you have to say
if you say it in your words.

i am not trying to bash here, i really want to understand the philosophy of the "bible posters" why cut and paste 1000 words from the bible and say only 20 of your own?

My friends and I are having an exitstensial debate over perceptions of reality and the reality that is before us. If all is based on the prior, and the prior is based on the previous, is our reality predetermined? If everyones perception of reality is predetermined, where does the abyss of the eternal spiral take us? Do conclusions exist?

"paid the price"

the meaning I mean, is generally in the context of jesus and being crucified.

I get that theres this idea that sin is a debt or something,

but "paid the price" TO WHOM?

God? why would god require a payment in order to forgive?

what would be preventing god from forgiving... merely because he felt like it?

Late last year,I attended an Alpha course. This eventually led to me being baptised in June this year.I now realise that I have made a terrible mistake. Is it best to just stop going to church,or should I make an appearance and explain myself before they start bothering me and asking why I'm not going to church.I know they will do this, cos before I was baptised,I didn't go for a few weeks and the man who ran the Alpha course I was on phoned and asked(in a vaguely threatening manner)why I hadn't been to church lately.Has anyone out there had any similar experiences? If so,have you any suggestions that may help me?

Most of the time external environment covers THAT vision and sometimes the external environment itself removes that cover. something like one thorn removing another thorn. Are the religions removing thorn or covering thorn. When covered with ashes the Fire is not visible. but the blaze of wind remove the ashes. Are the religions the covering ashes or blazing winds? or do they do both... a plant requires protection from sheeps and cows when young, but once grown into bigger trees they can give shades to these very animals. but the very protection wall is under threat if the Plant is allowed to Grow into mammoth size. Can we assume religion has only the value of a protection wall for the tender plants. What are your takes on these matters?

The Bible says even those who tell lies shall be cast into the lake of fire. Thus the same punishment is prescribed for all types of a sin. Can anyone conceive of a judicial system that prescribes death penalty for all crimes and misdemeanor? Death for even traffic offenders? How just would such a system be?

I do this so that I see what their arguments are and so I am sure that I believe what is true. The latest book I read was "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis. I don't know any Christians who will risk reading books on evolution or book like "The End of Faith" by Sam Harris. Isn't it best to get both sides of an argument before you decide? Are there any of you Christians out there who read books like this? If so, what books have you read?

LASHKAR GAH, Afghanistan (Reuters) - A suicide bomb killed 18 people outside the governor's office in the southern Afghan province of Helmand on Tuesday, provincial officials said.

The bomb went off as foreign troops were passing in the provincial capital, Lashkar Gah, an official said. NATO troops were in the area at the time but none was hurt, an alliance spokesman said.

"It was a suicide attack on a road in front of the governor's office," police official Mohammad Ayoub said in Lashkar Gah.

"There are six police and army deaths and the other 12 people are civilians," said provincial government spokesman Mahaiuddin.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

A suicide blast in a crowded market in the same town killed 17 people on August 28.
