Yep, a conspiracy theorist informs me that three, not two, trade centre towers were destroyed on 9/11. Now, I've been up the towers (July 2001) and I saw only two. Are my eyes playing tricks?

Buildings around the World Trade Towers were seriously damaged that day, as you would expect. Some buildings around the World Trade Towers later had to be taken down as they were dangerous & beyond repair. There were only 2 towers that were World Trade Towers, the North Tower ( the 1st one hit), and the latter one, the South Tower. South Tower came down first, then later, the North Tower came down.

There were at least 7 buildings in the complex. Towers 1 & 2 were by far the biggest, but #7 fell later in the day. It had been evacuated, so there was no loss of life, but the structure was weakened when the first two fell and it collapsed at about 5:30 pm EST. It was not directly targeted, just a result of the other two shaking its foundations too hard when they fell. I saw it live on the news. It just went straight down. They knew something like that might happen, because they evacuated all the buildings around there for a several block radius. No one was allowed back for days, until they were sure it was safe.

The third building was a financial institution and office building behind the towers, I believe it was 20 or 25 stories tall. It came doiwn later in the day on 9/11.

Seems your eyes are playing tricks, because there were 7 World Trade Center buildings, and WTC 7 can be seen collapsing on video. Two towers were much taller than the other buidlings.

Told ya!

:P

And FYI, just because I knew something YOU didn't, does NOT make me a "conspiracy theorist". That is simply a cop-out on your part because you cannot accept certain facts. Your government would NEVER lie to you? That my friend, is an incredibly naive idea...a cursory examination of history will prove you are very much mistaken.

The tool of the citizen to discover the truth about anything is independant research, NOT reliance on the popular media or what one is told by government bodies.

The tools of our respective governments to keep certain things buried is citizen apathy and devout belief in their government being honest and truthful at all times.

This is no "belief" or "conspiracy". It is something that can be proven by taking it upon oneself to research off ones own back.
As you would have noticed yourself, had you researched the initials "WTC 7"...

(let me guess, SW...I WON'T be getting best answer for this? I suspect because I am here, showing you you were wrong and your pride will not allow you to accept it. I don't mind! My happiness lies in the fact I have taught you something! Remember, don't believe everything you hear! Not EVERYTHING is a conspiracy theory, my friend-some things are just facts, whether you want them to be or not! Oh, thanks for rating this as a "bad answer" too. It proves what I thought regarding your pride...)
