what was the worst thing you ever did to someone, and you have to this day, felt so bad that it has affected your life in some way?

I gave my son a lump of coal for Christmas...
he was being a bad boy and I told him santa brings a lump of coal for bad boys...he said "Goody - I don't believe in Santa anyways".
He has Christmas issues today - even at 13...
he gets upset every year just before Christmas,
he'll cry and ask me if I think Santa has forgiven him...
each year I have to say...
"Did you get a lump of coal last year??"

It would have to be the time I was dating a guy and kicked him to the curb as soon as the man I wanted became available...It really hurt him and I just did not give a darn at the time, now looking back I was mean and should have handled THAT a whole different way!!!

I gave my puppy dog away to someone without properly checking the person to whom it went. He died two weeks later because the idiot gave him a chicken bone which lodged in the puppy's throat. I have never forgiven myself for it, and I seriously believe this is the one thing that has earned me damnation of some sort.

I had a knife in my hand and my cousin ran into it. It stabbed her in the hand and I still think about it to this day. When it happened I was 10. I'm 21 now. She still has no feeling in one of her fingers.

Its not someone but something. I killed the lizard. Yeah i ate it accidentally cos i didnt see it.
It still haunted me till now and i could not forget that innocent face!

being really, really close to this certain guy friend and then suddenly breaks any means of communication between us witouh any valid reason... it's been a year now and i'm really guilty of doing it. every time we pass by each other it's just like one never exist. it hurts...

i once was so negligent thatt i left my pet sparrow out in the scortching sun and it died the next day , since that day i promised i wont own a pet ever
