I heard on the news yesterday that the air ambulance service that flew the Hammond chap to hospital is now able to buy a new helicopter, thanks to donations recieved since Hammonds accident.
What does that say about us, that we have to wait till a celebrity is involved before we give to a worthy cause?

I've have yet to meet or see on here, an athiest who seemed really happy and at peace. Sure, YOU may be, but it seems the overwhelming majority isnt. Is it because you are denying the innate human desire to seek out a diety figure? And yeah, I know christians and people of other faiths can get rude too, we ALL can. but honestly, i find it funny that people who dont believe in religion spend so much time in the religion and spirituality secion defending their beliefs or pushing them on other people. Cant you just accpet us all? Im a christian, and if you dont want to believe in God, I dont mind. I think you have just as much to offer as anyone else. But if an athiest asks if im a christian and i say yes, im instantly persecuted. whats up with that? its happend a dozen times at least.

the meaning of worship is adoration or reverence. I guess even people with no belief in God may worship themselves or other people even?

Have we been born with an innate desire to worship?

Didn't we all come from that same blob of tissue? (BY the way whoever told you that its a blob of tissue lied to you because a heartbeat can be detected two weeks after conception and this "blob of tissue" looks very well like a human being). And for those of you who think that a fetus is a piece of flesh with a heartbeat, we were all once "pieces of flesh" with heartbeats.

Steve the fish, who, as you may remember if you read the first question I posted about him (sadly, it was deleted, what is Y!A thinking these days?) is a devout Buddhist. He meditates daily and has a statue of Buddha in his bowl. However, he wants to learn more about other religions. Can I take my fish (in his bowl, of course) into a church, synogouge, or mosque? Or should I just help him set up an account here on Y!A and let him ask questions? What do you guys think?

My sister and I were making fun of psychic twins on the T.V. We decided to play a game. I told her to think of an image and project it into my mind and then I would tell her what the image was. I thought we would laugh when I said something totally opposite. We even made funny noises and gestures as if we had psychic powers. Then I saw an image in my head of the ocean,a beach, and a cliff with a cave. I told this to my sister and she began to scream. She said that was what she was thinking of. She is still freaked out and looks at me funny. What happened?

Spin, spin, and more spin. That is the only defense the liberals have.

Example: "Hey! That house is on fire and people are trapped inside!"

Classic liberal response: "Oh yea? Well did you know some people died in a flood 20 years ago way over there?"

I am fascinated by the complete lack of logic or reasoning inside the liberal mind. Can you help me understand why they are so stupid?

Its at a point were ppl are just being mean and rude. Most Christians are just nice little humble folks who keep to themselves.Yes I have said it b4 I will be saying it a lot more in the future. We need to get back to the basics the stuff you learned in 3rd grade being respectful, and showing class and good manners. We are so busy trying to be so freaking "deep" and clever that we forget to treat ppl like you would want to be treated its simple folks.

I have always fantisized sexually about various girls but have only lived out the fantasy once last year. Im 24 and have two children to my ex partner. I now have a boyfriend and have been seeing him for over a year but I seem to only get turned on during sex if I think about girls. The thing is, I dont feel 'lesbian'. I cant imagine having a relationship with a girl or ever falling in love with a girl. It seems to be only a sexual attraction. Am I Bi? or Am I a lesbian that has gotten used to having relationships with men?

Don't tell me it's so we may have everlasting life. If He made us this way and gave us free will, then doesn't He share some of the blame for our misdeeds? Shouldn't He ask *our* forgiveness for stacking the deck against us and beg *us* to stay in Heaven with him? At the very least, that door should be wide open for us--not questions asked--shouldn't it?

Funny, the atheists are always asking for proof from the religious groups on this board. I’ve seen the statement (in one form or another) that 'religion is responsible for most wars', etc, etc, over and over, yada, yada.

But do they ever ask their fellow atheists (oh, by the way, I am an atheist) for proof?

Never, because it fits their preconceived notions of the world. They can hardly imagine religious people who are well adjusted, peaceful individuals.

For those of you interested in what causes wars in modern time:

Sorry, but you’ll have to do the research yourself, but will only take a couple hours. ;-)

I just moved into a hous, and when i first arrived a distant cousin of mine cam over to help me get settled in. There was a shack in my backyard that was old and falling apart. He carged me $450 to tear it down. I didn't pay him all the money up front. He took the wood and the tin that it was made of and sold it. He also left the shingles from the roof, and a huge pile of wood that could not be sold all over the yard. He never returned to clean it up so my son and i had to. Over the course of two months of not coming to clean up the mess, he broke his hip, everything else that he had fixed for me is now broken , and he was paid in full for those jobs.I haven't finished paying him for the shacks yet.
1 my toilet which is leaking and we cant use it
2 My roof which is still leaking, more than it was
3my kitchen sink which the pipe fell out of
4 installed my hood for my oven which i cant turn off
Not to mention i still have to pay someone else to haul away the stuff .
