seeker,
It doesn't sound blasphemous.

But your statements might mean many things to other people.

Rather I would say, trust God through His promises, stand on His word firmly, and HE will make you more like Him, and become like God.

No, it is not blasphemous, but it is a tall order. For most people it would do if they simply asserted every morning: "Today I will live a pure and honest life." Eventually, they would follow his example. That is what true Christianity should be about. Doing like Jesus would, not talking like people wrote using his name, leads, to becoming like him.

Jesus was exceptional and good so we should all strive to be like him. BUT its not required to consider him better than anyone else. He said he is the son of god and we are all his brethren. He never said he was better than anyone else. He said he is the way and the light, follow him. That means, do as he did.

It can seem like a contradictory thought, but my answer would be no, it's not blasphemous to have the ambition to follow Jesus and become like Him, because Jesus was the way to God, and we are now children of God. So it makes God proud to see us acting like Him; just like it makes parents proud when their children grow up and act like them.

Also, when we receive Him as our Lord and Savior, His nature is inside us (his spirit) so it will eventually become natural for us to act like Him as we mature.

Certainly, there are some things that are reserved for God to handle, just like a Father does in a natural family, so it's not trying to be God, but to be like Him. It can sound blasphemous, and in Jesus' day it was blasphemous for Him to call God His Father. . But if you believe in Jesus, He said to pray "Our Father" so we're supposed to see God as Father and as children, we mimic what we see and we try to be like our Father.

God expects from us to be pure as himself & Jesus even though. we cant be perfect. But imitating like Jesus we can resist
most of the sins. So I encourage you to be like Jesus.

Uhmm, if you fail at your attempt then, yeah I would say it is. This is why we don't swear or make an oath on God's name, cuz if we don't come thru, well you get the point.
