Advertisement can be free or paid. Any activity you can make to increase the awareness of a product or service is advertisement.
With that in mind it is easy to know that it is very important... otherwise your product or service will not reach any market and for instance will not be a choice for the consumers

Advertisement is a must to get the word out to the public, on a new or old product If you see the ads,then maybe it will stick in your head and maybe you'll buy it. Without ads. sales will not be as much,

Advertisements pay for a lot of the stuff that is "free" to us, like network television and public radio and a good chunk of online content.

But anyway, the real purpose of advertisements is to get you to buy stuff you don't need.

"spotlight" if you don't advertise then your product will blend in with the others...by turning on the spotlight and advertising then it shins and customer focus and buy -- think of movies -- would you go to one without knowing what it is about or without seeing the "trailer/advertisement" on TV??
