What would you do - you have one hour to live

2006-09-06 03:14:29 · 41 answers · asked by Anonymous in Religion & Spirituality

than by "radical Islamic zealots" acting upon their beliefs, vowing to kill AND KILLING those who won't convert or believe? In the first instance you can choose what to believe and still live...in the second instance if you want to live you don't really have a choice...and in America murder is a criminal act. THAT makes me feel threatened and angry! Yet Christians appear to get more bashing than murderers on Y!Answers...and I'm certain to get a number of snide remarks for even asking this question rather than reasoned, articulate responses...

I saw a small documentary about it recently, and I was wondering if anyone here practices, or knows a great deal about it. Seems to be more a way of thinking than a religion per se. The bad press it gets was put down to the links it has with belief in advanced life-forms ('aliens') having had a hand in the creation of earth, and people automatically think its's 'crazy'. The reaction to this was very straight forward - why is it crazy to believe in extraterrestrial life, and NOT crazy to believe in demons and angels? They have a point.

Under-16's are to be given free contraception AND the morning after pill at school without consent of the parents. And in certain cases they can get even get abortions without their parents ever having to know.
England has the highest teenage pregnancy rate in Europe. A lot of girls are not even 16 before their 1st is born. I know of a 20-year olds with 3 kids of which 1 in primary school already!
What is happening? Why do these children want children of their own?

No reactive answers here, I'm serious: should older Christians with graying hair color their hair, or is this going against what the Bible says in Proverbs 16, "Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained by a righteous life." The Bible shows that graying hair is something to be glad to obtain in life, not something to mask.

Further, is the believer exercising true humility in altering or covering over something that is a natural part of life? Generally an older person with dyed hair is very obvious, so is this setting a proper example for younger people of the virtue of humility? (in accordance with numerous Biblical examples, such as Paul's letter to Timothy, in which he instructs older men to set Godly examples for the young men)

If gray hair is a sign of a righteous life, why would this be covered with dyes?

I'd love some serious answers here.

Let's do some math...300,000,000 Citizens, Approx. 16% between 18-21 (48,000,000). Lets say 40% (maybe higher or lower) of them want college education (7,680,000). 10% get schlorships (768,000 - let's say 3% get full=23,400), 10% get Grants and/or Loans (768,000). That leaves the 20% (6,144,000) who are not eligible or dont have the resources to learn/or Get either. 80 billion (PLUS MORE..if you cant taxes also) was spent on a war. Im not saying give all that money away to College Education ....This all im saying!!!

I may have missed some things...Not very good at math!!! This is just Estimates. Actually i think the College Percentage is lower then 40%..Meaning MORE MONEY!!!

80,000,000,000/6,144,000= $13,000 (each) put to American kids who cant catch a break financially for school.

80,000,000,000/7,680,000=$10,416 (each) can be added to grant money, so parents/students wont have such much money to pay back to banks/loans.

You were walking down the street and saw a man in front and he dropped his wallet on the floor, you pick the wallet and it is bulging with cash well over £2000/ $4000 USD or 6000 euro. But before you can catch up with him he has got into his car a brand new top of the range rolls royce and set off. The wallet has no name or address in it. Do you

A) Keep the money and think its a nice windfall and the person looked wealthy so wouldn't miss the money

B) Take the wallet to the local police station and hope if it isn't recovered after 6 months you will receive the contents

C) Give the money to charity because you don't want the guilt of keeping the money and you don't want to hand it in.

Personally I would hand it in to the police, i am not a wealthy person but i couldn't take the guilt of keeping it.

When I lived in Chicago, I was told it was a gang sign (black head scarves for one gang, white for another). I don't know if it's just a fashion statement, since the rappers seem to dress like this in their videos. Regardless, it's a little intimidating.

Thanks for the info. I've needed to take the train with my new job, and I'd like to try and understand the subculture around me.

In Corinthians 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ,we are of all men most miserable.

So a true christian understands the foundation of this saying, because if in this life is what we look foward to which is heaven and if Christ is not risen from the dead and its just something that was created in this world.then we of all people have been deceived most and are most miserable. So if a person understands this who are you to knock a person the believes in this regardless of persecution?

An answerer claims that there are McDonald's restaurants in New Orleans starting at $15/hr. Is this true? If so, can someone provide any specifics, like the address or phone number of the restaurant?

I'm not sure I believe this statement, and would like to call a restaurant to confirm.
