And have you studied it/them?

Please, for the love of Zeus, let's keep the answers sensible and COURTEOUS, no pot shots. I will report haters for insulting other participants, so let's be adults. I hate having to say this, but this section is notorious for mudslinging.

So, where is your spiritual curiosity? I've studied Islam and the Baha'i Faith in depth, I love both. Here is a website to the Baha'i Faith for those who are unfamiliar: http://www.bahai.org

What do you think of the idea of a Christian Night Club? No smoking, no alcohol and a dress code. You could dance the night away to christian music. Or come and see a really cool christian band. There would also be a game room with a pool table and video games.

Religious fundamentalists and those who simply accept what is told to them, are unable to find truth or enlightenment. All they find is what they wanted: To feel sure that they're right, after all. To be safe in their knowledge. To be blissfully ignorant of doubt is an easy way out, a self failure. Satan and the curiosity and doubt he instils upon us is certainly the enemy of fundamentalism.

The role of Satan is very much relevant to our lives and our search for knowledge.

Of those that are sure they are right, the scientists and the religionists, the scientists at least, as part of their rules of behavior, continuously test and refine their knowledge: Nothing is assumed to be true. Everything is tested, old theories are constantly re-tested whenever new knowledge comes to light.

Question .. Is finding what you wanted, feeling sure that you're right, and safe in your knowledge an easy way out?

and we have free will, the only logical explaination is that nothing wil be a sin anymore, like it was before eve ate the fruit or whatever. well, then wouldn't lying, and sex and homosexualit be accepted? i'd pay good money to see a fundamentalist enter heaven only to find a bunch of gay sex! lmao

Why are some lesbians "butch"? Who are they attracting, if the women liked men and male looks wouldn't they just date men? The same goes for gay men who get breast implants and stuff, who are they attracting if the gay men don't like women?? I have always wondered this....

People who are bright enough to see the reason in science aren't demagogues, anyway.

Demagogue: emotive dictator; a political leader who gains power by appealing to people’s emotions and prejudices rather than their rationality

That would apply more to Christians than to scientists. Christians use the all too familiar "YOU'RE GOING TO HELL LOLZ!!!" to scare people into joining their ridiculous dogma. Scientists just lay out rational facts.

Asshat.

for example, would God order you to leave your wife becuase he has something else in store for you, that this current wife is supposedly keeping you back from achieving? or another example, would God order someone to steal something in order to set off a chain of events which He wants to happen in order to fulfil a certain good purpose?

Many different sects (Catholic, protestant sects) plus different perspectives when interpreting the bible (literal, non-literal). E.g. (1) the hell concept is seen as literal by some and as metaphorical by others. (2) The Episcopalans' Bishop-elect accepts evolution and doesn't believe Jesus is the only way to god. (3) Some (e.g. like certain contemplative monks) use the beliefs as tools to have a direct mystical experience with the divine. How would you characterize your Christian practice?

I live in Alabama, and it's full of inbred Fundie asshats. I am both surprised and pleased that the clowns on the board of education have actually allowed evolution to be included in the curriculum. Do you see Creationist bullshit anywhere in the biology textbooks? Nope, but there's a nice long chapter on evolution! It's good to see that not everyone has been brainwashed.

These people are supposed to be inspired by God in this book.So why did God not inspire these people to speak of the dinosaurs in between the 6 day creation and the dawn of man?Funny how God only managed to inspire them in matters of their current knowledge. The streets of Heaven are paved with GOLD,a very soft metal for a road, instead of DIAMONDS,because diamonds had not been discovered at that time.Just as they had no knowledge of dinosaurs.Funny how God inspired and kept those people ignorant to facts.Funny huh?Does someone have an answer to why God kept His inspired subjects ignorant to the most simplistic of things?

i was watching dr. fredrick price this am. i always enjoy and respect his teaching. he stated that the lords prayer is not a christian prayer, then ran out of time before he had a chance to explain. it really got my wheels turning. my best guess is that jesus taught the prayer for the old convenant. the kingdom that we ask for in the prayer, christian faith says is already here. it became after the death of jesus and the new covenant. could you please give insight or your thoughts on this explanation.
