As before, I'm not interested in your religion or lack of religion.

My husband and I are going on a Mission Trip to Mexico around Christmas. This will be our 3rd trip. It will cost us each $895, for a total of $1790.

Do you know of any fund-raising ideas that we can pull off with very little effort/funds of our own? I'd like to get started as soon as possible. We just purchased a home, we will be moving in about 2 weeks, school just started- I teach 2nd Grade, and I'm starting my Master's college courses Oct. 4th. We are busy!

Last year we held a bake sale at Church and made about $300. We plan on doing that again. The rest of the money we just got from begging basically, by sending out a newsletter informing family, friends, and co-workers about our mission, what we were going to be doing, and how they could help.

If you have any ideas that would be so helpful. I get tired of just asking people to donate. I know it is for a good cause, but it seems like pulling teeth, especially around Christmas, so if we could start early, that would help

Why do people feel the need to pick a side in war?
- This to me is silly, since war is a pointless waste of life... people picking sides from afar are like people betting on a football game from home.. War is not a spectator sport!

Why do people think that war is necessary?
- When has war been necessary? If you bring up Hitler I'll tell you that Hitler was the one that started the war (on anyone not aryan).. and starting the war was unnecessary on his part.

Why don't people see that war has historically been caused by difference of religion or philisophical beliefs?
- C'mon folks... it's right there in front of you..

I do see the purpose of religion as far as moral codes, hope, etc. But what I am seeing more and more now is the devisive nature of religion--and it seems to be breeding more hate, than hope. I wonder how many millions of people have died in the name of God--and is that what people really think he would want? I consider myself a spiritual person--and my belief system is more Christian than any other, but I can see truth and beauty in many religions and cultures. I think diversity is beautiful, why does it make others so angry?

If you pray for X and it happens, you say God heard and prayer worked.
If you pray for X and it didn't happen, you say God works in mysterious ways and everything happens for a reason so that's why you didn't get it.

How can you prove that it works? Proof is important because otherwise anyone can come up with anything at anytime and demand you believe it because they said it.

bearing in mind that you are lesbian and you are pretty sure that she? It would have to be subtle because it would be akward (this is the hardest word to spell in the english language when you are dyslexic) if I was wrong or she wasn't interested. Something witty but sensitive.

I don't want to know your religion, or lack of religion. I just want to know whether you believe you serve Love or Fear.

Do you encourage Love in others, or do you encourage Fear?

there is this really annoying freshman who sits next to me in one of my classes (assigned seating). he keeps trying to talk to me and asks me repetitive and stupid questions that are none of his business. he pretends to poke me and then looks away like he didn't do anything. that's how idiotic this guy is. i remember dealing with people like this back in the day, but what can i do about it now that is mature and will work? thanks.

I live in Greenville, Tx and goto Dallas fairly often. The Problem is I don't know where any good shops are to get supplies for ritual use. I am a solitary practicioner and don't know anyone in this area that practices. Any help would be greatly appreiciated as every time I track down a shop in DFW it's closed for the day or shut down alltogether.

The person who cuts in line has committed a malicious act, and I was looking for a way to effectively let him or her know that this is a very serious problem which needs to be dealt with immediately. I would be happy if I even stopped only one person from ever cutting in line again.

I know that I will likely lose my place in the line because I have left it, but I want to be a model citizen; I want to protect the others in line and give the evil person who cuts in line a reminder that cutting in line is very inappropriate behavior. Any advice or other techniques about dealing with this issue would be appreciated. Thank you!

People blame all these wars at God, but can't you see that the major cause of these conflicts is lack of tolerance? Even this forum is a great example of lack of tolerance, if we didn't had the anonymity that the Internet offers and we would be telling those kind of atrocities to our faces then people would be beating the crap of each other.

You can get rid of all the religions of the world, but wars are going to continue. People have lack of tolerance not only for religion, but also for politics, race, difference in cultures, power, monetary aspects.

Humans are too imperfect to develop true peace in themselves and accept each other. In a World were people are giving their backs at God, people are being more intolerant to each othe. Isn't this the cause of not having God in their hearts?

to forget the tenets of our chosen religions in an anonymous setting and become so mean spirited and negative?

For example: Many educated atheists lose their tempers here and start spewing venom instead of facts. Many christians here forget what christ taught and belittle and name-call others. I, myself have gotten caught up in the negativity that plagues this place and hurt someone. I publicly apologized to her and now I would call her friend. However, it doesn't change the hurtful words I said. (for you M.W. my favorite turkey sandwich....LOL)

Anyways, why do we let ourselves become the worst version of ourselves here? does anyone act like this in real life?

i.e.
Is it your religion?
Is it your conscience?
Is it the majority?
Is it the law?

Was it something you were born knowing, or is it something you have learned?

I'm interested to hear what people think and how they determine right from wrong, and if it is possible to find a common gound.

Come now, most of you redneck, confederate flag wielding, bible holdin, useless appalachians (and michigan) can be pretty damn racist if I may point out. And because you're retarded you also believe in Jesus and all that. So, what happens if he actually does come back and it turns out that he's black? Would you still accept him and go with him to heaven (could be a bit ghetto) or just commit suicide and have done with it? Personally, I don't think you're smart enough to wrap your mind around this concept.

i am horrible at public speaking, or doing presentation in front of class or speaking to a group small as 4 or 5 people and i think it is because of lack of confidence in myself. i don't know why this is the case, i have a healthy self-esteem, and i do have confidence in other areas of my life, i have no problem in dating or talking to men. i'm usually ok with one on one, but in front of groups, its a different story. help!

I am frightened by the current events concerning Islam and the rising tensions between the Muslims and non-Muslims. I would really like somebody who is a Muslim to help my understand more about your religion, so I do not become prejudiced by my fears. If anyone would be prepared to answer my questions completely honestly, and not get ultra offended by everything I ask, I would be very grateful if you would send me an email or answer, so I can email you.
Thank you!!
