I do not expect Jesus to look like the most common representations of Him. I doubt very much that he appeared in the likeness we are familiar with.
In all honesty I cannot say that I do not have racist tendencies at times. I have no excuse, I know that it is wrong. This should far outweigh my upbringing, but it does not always. When I say racist tendencies, I do not mean that I slander, insult, etc.. What I mean is that I tend to gravitate towards people of the same background as me, ethnic, race, etc... I am sorry for this, and I am working to overcome it. This is hard living in a small town in the middle of the country, but that's just another excuse...
Anyway, to answer your question; it does not matter to me. When Jesus comes I will know Him, no matter what He looks like.
From all descriptions of what Jesus looks like in heaven, race will be the last thing on my mind. He will look like He is on fire, legs resembling glowing metal, etc. The color of His skin probably won't even register.
And speaking of racist, your second sentence could be interpreted as just that. You see, in some way, many of us struggle with those tendencies. It is something we all need to work on.

The sarcasm and spite from your question is oozing out of the screen and running over my keyboard as I type. MESSY!
I work with some guys who have the confederate flag on their trucks and they sit at lunch with african people and talk to them with the same respect they give others, so the flag is not an accurate measure of prejudice.
If Jesus is black it wouldn't phase me a bit, but HEY, I'm not a redneck, confederate flag waving racist.
For you to suggest that all people from Appalachia are useless is just as hateful as what you seem to be attempting to expose.
Matt.7
[3] And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
you need to remove your own prejudice before you go around telling others they have some.

well I don't know about those "rednecks" as you call them but I think you are generalizing just a bit! There are racists in every race as you have pretty much demonstrated but personally I don't care what colour Jesus comes back as or is - do you really think colour matters? If and when Jesus comes back let's just hope we can all live in peace and harmony!

sorry but most of the extremists are not following the same Jesus that I am. Please don't get us confused with one another. By the way, Jesus was probably of darker skin, he came from Jerusalem in the Middle East, and He teaches not to love by outward appearance. If God's teachings are teaching against the very essence of racism(judging by outward appearances) then why on earth would you think that those people are truly following Him. I cannot say that they are not saved, because only God knows our hearts, but I can say that if they truly are saved they would not be able to live with themselves because the Holy Spirit inside them would torment them. People often say that Christians our goody goodies, and the reason for that is we have the Holy Spirit guiding our decisions, keeping us from making mistakes. However, we do still make plenty of them, but we have nothing but guilt from them. God knows how we should live in a way that we can be truly happy, and when we follow His way, then everything will turn out all right. And in response to your one remark about when He comes back, if they hadn't decided to believe in Christ before then, then it will be too late.

Considering the part of the world Jesus was born, he is dark skinned. No problem with that.
Also, I know lots of non-believers who are stupid, redneck, and plenty racist. Wrap your mind around that.

You racist ******. So, if the Jesus in your stupid little scenario is black, of COURSE Heaven would be ghetto!
You're so busy filling your mind and heart with hatred, you haven't noticed that you're a narrow-minded moron as well.

Wow, you're really condescending. I hope He is black (though I'm pretty sure he'll look fairly Jewish/Israeli) so a point can be made. Can we move past the racist thing? Anyone racist enough to behave as you're describing won't be destined for Heaven anyway, because they haven't died to self.

Why does it matter what race Jesus was when He came in the flesh. OR when He comes again. Jesus is Jesus - the colour His skin appears makes no difference whatsoever. If He appears to be black - I would follow Him just the same. I love Him for who He is - not for His appearance.
