People blame all these wars at God, but can't you see that the major cause of these conflicts is lack of tolerance? Even this forum is a great example of lack of tolerance, if we didn't had the anonymity that the Internet offers and we would be telling those kind of atrocities to our faces then people would be beating the crap of each other.
You can get rid of all the religions of the world, but wars are going to continue. People have lack of tolerance not only for religion, but also for politics, race, difference in cultures, power, monetary aspects.
Humans are too imperfect to develop true peace in themselves and accept each other. In a World were people are giving their backs at God, people are being more intolerant to each othe. Isn't this the cause of not having God in their hearts?

I totally agree with this. A lot of people blame God for bringing war. Does he actually control what we do, like decisions? No of course not, so people should stop blaming God. It’s the human fault for doing mistakes like this; I mean it's been mentioned in the Bible. Adam and Eve is a good example. I guess there are a lot of ignorant people in the world that really don't know what’s wrong and right.
People depend of the government or others to do something, to change something for them. If people did the right things, think before doing something, and stop depending on someone to change something for them. The world would be a better place. Sometimes the human race, kind of disgust me so much, that I just feel really sad what the world has become the history and the present seem to be the same. Sure some things change now, but people are still doing mistakes from the past.

You make a good point. Lack of tolerance does seems to be the foundation for much of the conflict in the world. You see it, albeit on a very small scale, on at this site all the time. Today has been especially bad here though.

Wars are ultimately greed - what can I gain and how fast can I gain it. It sounds noble to say, "We're offering them a better way of life". Who said they wanted it - they've lived the way they have for 10,000 years - we're probably not going to change their way of life. But they have something we ultimately believe we can use - and that's the basis of war - we either need to base in their land, or they have natural resources we desire, or they are a viable population control threat (crude but true), so it's not intolerance or religion that leads us into a conflict - it's greed - you have what I want and I'll do whatever it takes to acquire it. This is what history has taught us if we've truly studied history and not just read the lines.

All religions preach lack of tolerance, even christianity, kill all the enemies of Jesus...
That is the thing. I have been telling people on here that all gods are the same, that we all worship the same god. But all they do is say 'No, your god doesnt exist, my god is the only true god".
That is your problem. The "my god is the only true god" crap.
That is the stuff that wars are started from.

Religion , greed for power , greed for territory are the causes of strife all over the world . The religions that are spoken to be teaching tolerance and love are not really so . The people of the religon preach one thing and practice another . Christianity teaches only love and afection . Of course it threatens of punishment if you do not believe in the christ . but the religon was spread by use of force in the initil stges with the aid of state power , by crushaes . It was the forerunner of religous violence . then the islam , it is also said to teach tolerance dn peace . but it is also said to preach violence (they say Chapter 9 verse 29 or verse 9 chaperte 29 of kuran as commanding the Muslis to convert the entire world to islam or to kill those who do not believe in Islam) It need s tove verified . but the happening s around the world shows that theyu the fundmentlists muslims ar are in a killing spree all ovr th world today. it is unfortuante that the ordenary peaceful peopeklamong them are to bve looked upon with suspicion . It looks that the re is some truth in this misguided philosophy of hose peole . the religious leaders who veryofetn im,petuously issue Fatwas against ecven minor offenders do not issue any fatwas against the fundamentalist muslims who kill innocent people all over the world , but seem to support them. they do not seem tohav any blief in god as if they beklieve that the the souls of human beings are god , they can not kill humans and innocent huans and woen and children . They are ruthlessly resorting to it . They also spread their religions by force only in thebeingiining . so it is seen that religon has become the bane of he civilized world . the right- thinking (not riot -thinking ) people of these religions should realize their responsibility to redeem the image of their religion or /god if they really believe in their 'Gods and ensure that no one resorts to killing in the name of their religion , if really their religions are for peace among the people . All other problems and issues can really be solved peacefully and fairly if reliigon is detached form it .
May be the humans should cionsider very seriously if there is
any need for any religion at all in the present world .

And what seems to be the common denominator in wars, that's right, religion. You don't see atheists taking part in any military conflicts.

Should we defend ourselves as others are warring against us, or should we be tolerant and try to talk and reason with them as they continue to kill us? Someone braver than myself will need to reason with the terrorists, and if they will play nice, I will be more tolerant.

What you mean by tolerance?
In the name of tolerance we can not fool ourselves. Truth can not tolerate evil . Truth is absolute. All religions are not true. there is one moral law giver. he is God. Search for him. i won't believe in Truth of relativity.
