I just can't seem to tell people no when they ask for volunteers.
While at a local function, a church member asked me if I would take nursery duty for 3 times this year....I said yes. I got the flyer and they put me down for aug 20, Dec 24 and April.

I had my first round this morning, and had to take my twin 8 year olds with me because I couldn't leave them. It was a nightmare!

The worst part is that they had so much "fun" playing with the babies, that they want to keep going back and not go to church!

I really don't want to give up our Christmas vacation for this, and don't really want to trade anyone a day.

How can I get out of this gracefully without hurting anyone's feelings?

Okay...so in the last couple of days I have read more than one mention that xtians are comparable to the Borg. I totally agree. So just for fun....what comparisons between the 2 can you make? or quips? etc.?

I have a good friend who is lesbian. About a year and a half ago she was openly gay and started to dress more guy like. Like all strict church going mothers...she flipped out! Her mom found out about her openly gay myspace and ordered her to cancel it. She also made her go to counceling at her local church about her being gay. Her mom figured that she needed to talk to someone because its "just a phase". Not only did her mom make her go to counseling but she is no longer going to my school because of the large population of gay teens there. Instead her mom made the retarded and completely stupid idea of putting her in an ALL GIRLS school!! Personally i think that was a really stupid thing to do if you want to "heal" your daughter from being gay. As a lesbian myself i think that this is horrible and stupid! I just want to know what you think of this situation. Was it smart or dumb? Be honest.!

Shouldn't there be scores of caring , giving and loving Christ Cultists lined up giving these people a chance at life?

Where are you? It seems thats its easy to rant and rave about the sanctity of life, but when it comes to actually doing something selfless and pure you fail to deliver.

Jesus gave himself to save us...why aren't you lined up to give a small part of yourself to save a fellow human being? Someones Father , mother or child is dieing because you are not helping.

If this was truly a Christian nation, wouldn't there be zero demand for these life saving organs? Wouldn't there be no waiting lists? Wouldn't there be no chance of someone dieing waiting for a donor?

This question has come up for me as an answer someone gave elsewhere. They said 'Jesus and Mohammed were hardly on the same side'.
Obviously, in a historical context they lived at different times so 'same side' probably doesn't really apply. All the same the previous answer was almost suggesting like they were enemies. I just don't see that.
So are they on the same side?
