I've heard it used to be a sign. If you had a ring in yer left ear, you were gay, or if a gal had a wrist chain around her left ankle. Am pretty sure that's obsolete.

Actually....the earing in the left ear originally meant you had sailed around the tip of South America, which was a tremendous feat when first accomplished by the English and Spaniards and Dutch. As a result of the left ear being taken, I think way back in the 70's gays picked the only other ear there was, the right ear.
means nothing anymore, now that all the gangbangers and lots of everybody else all wear earings.

So what help is there? Personally I don't believe in herbal remedies or medications that claim to specifically treat
tinnitus. What is true is that they can help you with an underlying problem such as depression, and that the benefits of
feeling better due to the medication taking effect can greatly reduce tinnitus. The reason for this is simple: tinnitus'
worst enemy is stress. The more stressed you are the louder you perceive your tinnitus to be. If you are depressed you will
naturally feel more stressed about life in general than you would if you weren't depressed.
Your general wellbeing also affects tinnitus. The healthier you are the less strain your body has to deal with. Changing to
a healthier diet, stopping smoking, the less caffeine you intake and learning to relax on a regular basis all help you
reduce and take control of tinnitus. If you can find ten minutes every day, preferably at the same time each day, and just
concentrate on relaxing you will soon notice that your tinnitus is substantially reduced around about the time you are
relaxing and for quite some time after. Try and add more ten-minute pockets of relaxation each day if you have the time.

I don't think it means much anymore, people tend to wear what they will wear.
When I was a kid, way back when, the straight guys had a saying, "Left is right, and right is wrong," meaning that a ring in the right ear indicated you were gay.
In some cultures left and right indicated single or taken, without regard to orientation. I don't think you'd be wise to make any assumptions...maybe if you get to know the person, ask!

I don't even think it matters anymore. It was a pretty old opinion, and now so many guys have just one random ear pierced they rarely catch any **** about it. Pierce which ever ear you want, and if you get any problems, tell them it's the different ear. They'll probably believe you since no one seems to be sure which ear it was originally.

Stop tinnitus now before it gets worse. The symptom of it is sometime very specific to every person. But in general, if you hear a sound that isn't actually a physically sound wave coming to your ear, then you are suffering from it. Mostly, it affects only one ear, but some reports show that a person can have that problem on both his ears. The worst case is, it can lead to hearing loss. There are many variation of the tinnitus sound such as hissing, whistling, chirping, roaring, clicking, or whooshing noise. A person may hear more than one type on those sounds. Furthermore, it can affect the neurological function of inner ear.

well i think back in the day if a male wore one in the left he was straight and one in the right meant he was gay. I don't think this really applies anymore. Just from experience, I have both of mine pierced and my left earring fell out without me knowing for almost an entire day and no one said anything about me only having the right one in.

The noise may seem to come from inside your head or from a distance. It may also be steady, pulsating or intermittent. At times, especially for patients who have had tinnitus in one ear for a long period of time, the noise may be perceived as a song or music. This is known as musical hallucination. The tune is often known to the patient because it is a mind trick where the mind processes the noises as a tune.
What causes the ringing in one ear?
Just like with the ringing in both ears, the problem can be caused by a range of things including exposure to loud music. One ear may be more vulnerable. Additionally, in the case of bacterial infection in one ear, you will experience the ringing solely in the affected ear and not in both. Other possible causes include:
High blood pressure
Increased ear sensitivity to blood flow in the inner ear
Reaction to medication such as antibiotics, aspirin and quinine medications
Head and neck injuries
Acoustic neuroma
Minere's disease
TMJ disorders
