Let me tell you something yeah,I'm a Christian but I'm not the types going around tellin people 2 read the bible and accept Jesus,you need to know that the bible is their to help you and those ppl believe dat the bible is a spiritual guide oh healing to help you,Jesus make miracles and the most suprising things that happen in life and why some people survive in horrible freak accident's is because of Jesus I will never evr call the bible garbage cuz it's my key but I will not force you cuz dat is you,wll if you don't want to read it just don't open the drawer I don't even know what you people believe in but you need to know Chrisitians don't leave it there the hotel does,you called the bible garbage which surprise me but it don't matter cuz that's just you.......................

It is the Gideon's International that places the bibles in hotels and this is what their web site says about it:
Hotels and Motels. The Gideons first placed Bibles in hotels in 1908. Over the years, many lives have been changed because of Bibles placed in hotel and motel rooms. The Word of God placed by The Gideons often meets the needs of travelers in times of loneliness and despair. Other areas of distribution for Hotel Bibles have been added through the years. They include motels, hospitals, jails, doctors' offices, ships, and airplanes.
Not saying that I agree with the practice. I just throw the thing into a drawer that I am not going to be using.

You are the loser, you are so lost you cannot understand that the hotel's have them in there so if you choose you may read one. But, instead of complaining to the hotel you vent your anger towards Christians that has done nothing to you. If you feel it is garbage and do not desire to read it, just leave it alone, you know it's in there don't open that drawer, go to another drawer.

Not so much that it is expected of you. But it is there you should have the desire to read it. Some people (like me) find comfort in the words of the Holy Bible, especially when I am far from home and those I love.
But man, why do they leave those phone books in those drawers? Are they just trying to tempt me to order pizza and cheat on my diet? The nerve of those phone book people
Same logic.....no one forces me to order pizza. no one forces you to read the bible. Or look in the drawers for that matter!

You aren't expected to read garbage, read the Bible, God's love letter to you. By the way, how did you come to your conclusion about the Bible being garbage? By reading a wide range of materials and making an informed rational decision? Or perhaps just hearing what other uninformed people claimed.?

They leave a phone book too, do you sit down and read that as well or maybe just use it if needed, and if you do its there for the use?
Do you think they just ran and put it there to tick "you" off because they saw you coming? You must think pretty highly of yourself to believe they were targeting you, or else you must be pretty scared wondering how someone that doesn't even know you actually knows you need help? Amazing isn't it?

how can you call the bible garbage? with all the trash that is on tv with all the crime with all the hatefulness in this world you want to call God's word garbage? it would not hurt you to read it in fact it might help YOU GET RID OF SOME OF THE ANGER

What if a group of people wanted to donate, say, Hustler magazine in case you wanted to read it? How many people would be offended at that trash being there for their convenience ?
It's really the same thing....everyone is offended by something, and those of us who are not religious are offended by the Wholly Babble as much as others might be by sleazy porn.
(as an aside, I'm not even sure if Hustler is still published actually, but substitute anything similarly vile and in poor taste)

the first three ppl who answered this questions are completed embicles because its not garbage but a good book to learn morals and values from. Also the important thing it teaches how to get closer to god and live a clean live as Jesus Christ did. Now from me reading your comments i can see that you three have no respect and probably dont have good enstilled values from a young age.
