If any of you caught the Dateline story last night about Pastor Carlton Pearson, just wondered what your thoughts are. I'm not looking for a screaming match, just honest opinions.

"Jesus said to him, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
If you know me, then you will also know my Father. From now on you do know him and have seen him"

I think that this verse illustrates Jesus place as Judge. Does it also condemn people who don't believe that Jesus is God?

This religious book (of course written by Man long ago) proclaims that only those who believe in their 'god X' (no other god or gods) can go to heaven upon death. Just wondering what about the millions and millions of humans (including young children) of all the other faiths go to when they die?
Also where do the countless murderers, rapists, terrorists and other criminals go to when they die (presuming they have repent and accepted god X)?

Ladies, if your husband said, "I love you, but I'm gonna let the President have you so he won't kill me" how would you feel about this? I just can't concieve of this man being any kind of role model.

I am a christian myself, but will not accept that my God would allow eternal suffering for anyone. Perfect love will always prevail against perfect righteouness. Even a lowly human like myself has too much compassion to punish people eternally. Send them back to the dust from which they came.

I have been with my boyfriend since 10th grade; it has now been four years. But since I was in group homes and foster care I found out about leisbians. I knew about gay guys. I look at girls now and desire them. They way they have their slim body and hairless legs and back, their beatiful eyes and lips, and they way they try to stay beautiful all the time.I feel bad, I dont know how to let my boyfriend know that I think I like girls. Or is it that i am just going mad? Is there somthing wrong with me for desiring this?

I think I may have this to a certain extent. I am able to predict minor future events accurately. It is almost like I can foresee them in a sense. This may be a weak example but take yesterday for an example. I woke up in the morning, and I had the feeling that I would be asked to help with collecting the offering during the service. When I got there, I was asked to do so. (Of course, I did it too.)

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar occurance. Maybe foresight isn't the proper word for this?

Fundamentalists don't seem to think that by knowing the Father, I could know the Son, is that true?

I'm honestly interested in the reasons why Catholics, who believe that Jesus Christ was the Son of God, are not thought to be Christians by some evangelical Christians. All opinions, other than profanity, are welcome!

So for me if I weren’t an Isian Witch I’d be a liberal Christian mystic.

I’ve learned a great many things for writers like St. John of the Cross and St. Bonaventura. I’d be liberal because I know I don’t have all the answers.

I started my own working mans club a couple of years ago with the money a dead relative left me. At first things were going quite well. I hired staff who would run the club whilst I would play snooker, domino's & card games with the regulars in between meets at St. Ledger. One day I let a coach party of Egyptians use our facilities as they had nowhere else to go, but they left sand all over the place & their camels shat all over the car park. The regulars voted, which resulted in all Egyptians being banned from the club. As the months passed by more and more coach parties were being banned for slight offences untill there was only me, two members of staff (now High Priests) and about 15 or so members (The Collective), who for some reason will only ever refer to me as the 'Great and All-Powerful Shaman'. Since they started stealing 'tributes' from HSBC for the Shaman the police have started an investigation & they are planning to kill themselves at the next full moon.
What should I do?

Asperger's syndrome is a form of autism that affects a fractional percentage of the population. People who have it have trouble understanding socialization and synthesizing emotion in normal ways. They are otherwise highly functional and have average to above average intelligence. No one knows what causes AS, but it can be detected in early childhood. There are many unique tendencies associated with the disorder, one of which is the tendency to reject religious belief. For whatever reason, the wide majority of people with AS are atheist, agnostic, or otherwise non-religious (as opposed to ~10% in the total population).
For those who are religious, how do you think the religion or god that you believe in would judge these people? Would they be condemned or punished as non-believers? Would they be given leniency because their condition may affect their ability to hold religious beliefs? Why would god create such a condition? Please include your religious affiliation. Thanks.

In Arminianism they teach God knows who will and will not accpet him. God sees into the future and knows those who will repsond. Then why is Jesus trying to save everyone if he knows those who will not accept him?
