I am a christian myself, but will not accept that my God would allow eternal suffering for anyone. Perfect love will always prevail against perfect righteouness. Even a lowly human like myself has too much compassion to punish people eternally. Send them back to the dust from which they came.

He didn't make it for you - he made it for the devil and his angels, as punishment for their rebellion (Matthew 25:41). That doesn't mean you can't go there. It's arrogant for a criminal to demand to choose his own punishment.

First, all of God's attributes are perfect in Him, and there is no disagreement among them. In other words, God is not schizophrenic; His divine justice does not argue with His divine mercy. The Bible is replete with evidence of the perfection of God, thus we cannot say that any one particular attribute is more or less preeminent than any other particular attribute. What God does, He does with His entire being.

Of far greater importance, however, is the issue of sin. While you are right to acknowledge God's perfect love, what you misunderstand is the utter offense that sin is to God. Remember, God is eternal, which means that sin offends Him eternally. Thus, sin demands an eternal punishment.

The good news is that God Himself provided an eternal sacrifice in the Person of Jesus Christ, who is eternally pleasing to God. If we believe in Jesus and live lives to the glory of God above all else, our eternal offense is covered by Christ's sacrifice and we are imputed or credited with Christ's eternally perfect righteousness.

And, lest you think that I'm merely being "Old Testament" in my harshness toward sin, read the New Testament. 1 Corinthians 16:22 says very clearly that any man who does not love the Lord is accursed, and the Greek word that we translate as "accursed" is "anathema," which means damned eternally. In Hebrews 10:26-7, it says this: "Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins. There is only the terrible expectation of God's judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies."

Make no mistake: God is not confused, nor is He weak. He hates sin and He punishes sinners eternally. Put your faith in Jesus Christ and live to the glory of God, and you'll not only never have to worry about hell, but you get to look forward to eternity in His presence, free from the curse of sin and fellow heir to Jesus Himself.

I sincerely hope this helped.

God placed it there for the devil and his angels, but didn't want it for people. You see you are right, why would God want eternal suffering for His chidren, and God wouldn't want that. When Jesus died on the cross for our sins, that gave man the free will for us to choose Him or not. When they reject they have fallen in the trap of the enemy. People think that there headed on the right road until the enemy decieves them into following him, when all he wants is for them to suffer. God wants His children to have peace and eternal life, He is trying to help us realize that but we're to stubborn and reject His offer and end up in Hell. Think about how much it hurts Him to see His own children reject Him and end up in place where there's suffering. Just remember 1 thing, Every knee shall bow and Every tounge shall confess that He is God. Its a promise, and lets start building the Body Of Christ

Be very careful, don't blame God for the wrong doings of men. Hell is not real at this point in time. It will be at the end of God's day; future sense. When the devil and cronies are sent to the lake of fire; they will be destroyed, gone for good. As if they didn't exist. God is a loving father.

Gods made it for those who want to have nothing to do with Him .So Angels and men alike will have what they want a place where any attributes of God are void. There will be no love .friendship mercy , forgiveness, beauty trust ect.. only things there are not of God like anger ,hatred envy, gelousy, fear,ect.. God will take every part of Himself out of their minds and they will be left only with the thoughts and desires listed above for eternity. you will be continualy enveous hating not trusting always in fear and no way of relief for ever and ever, God made it for those who do no want Him in this life and will give you what you what a place with out Him. But as far as today goes you still have a chance to trust Him why not humble youself and thank Him for the gift of His Son . He turn no one away

God didn't create hell originally for us. He created for satan, (which was originally an angel that ended up wanting to actually BE God) and when we fell into sin (by Adam and Eve) that was the place to go because God doesn't accept sin into his kingdom. He gives everyone a choice if they want to break away from the sin or not. Since Jesus died for our sins, we are in grace because we have a choice.

Your question brought you your answer...how awesome is that? Why would any unconditionally loving entity, of whom we are all a piece of, send any of its own Self into damnation? Hence, you now know that there is no hell...and doesn't that relieve alot of stress? Amen!

Please, though, do not think of yourself as "lowly"...do you imagine that God/Goddess thinks of you as such? You are an intricate part of these being's Wholeness...a God/Goddess in your own rite...a pure energy entity that is undying, limitless in our true reality...
please see this truth while you are playing the game of humanness & experience here.

If we do things that God has said not to, it opens the door for the Devil. If we move away from God, which is our choice, then we give ourselves over to the Devil. God loves us, but He respects our free will. If we choose to reject Christ, and go to Hell, we effectively tie God's hands.

exactly as flyers said...God made hell for the devil and his angels. He does not send any human there, we send ourselves by not accepting His gift of Salvation from that hell. He made a way, we have the choice.

Because the people who created Christianity were petty and vengeful and felt like the world had "done them wrong"; and it pleased them to imagine that they'd be sitting on their clouds going "neener-neener" to all the cool kids whose parties they didn't get invited to, and all the jocks who gave them "swirlies" in high school (or whatever the First Century equivalent was).

It's as simple and as far-reaching as that....
