I have asked a couple questions about language and communication, highlighting the inherant inadequacies of verbal communication. How else could humans communicate and convey all meaning, colour, nuance, emotion, sound,etc ? Language does not do it. What could ? I would like to know your thoughts on this.

have you ever spent time with a woman after she has had an abortion? I have spent time with some very good friends of mine, this is what those 4 individual women felt.

They felt sick, horrified, and completely useless. They greived, were angry at themselves for getting into a situation that ultimately resulted in abortion. They cried, and wept, and screamed. They lay emotionally exhausted on their beds or couches while friends helped them through a very very difficult time with compassion and empathy. They judged themselves harshly. In the end they felt sadness and regret.

If you are a christian do you think that by shouting scripture at a woman as she goes into or out of an abortion clinic will really change their minds? Is it your perception that women have abortions simply for the fun of it, do you think they go out and celebrate afterwards? What makes your behavior acceptable? Of course not all woman feel that way after an abortion, but many do.

i think i am an indigo. i was born in 1991 so i'm not an adult, and my little sister might be a crystal child. i use to see aura around people, but i blocked it out because it distracted me in school. i can still see them, only if i concentrate enough. most people can't see my aura, but i can still channel it, and foces it in my hands, and if i touch my hands to someone or near someone, they can normaly fell it. i see ghosts, and demons. i am told often that i seem like i have an old soul, and i do feel as if there are other dimensions in witch you can look into if u know how to. can any one help me figure this out? any one understand what i am talking about?

...one day God descended from Heaven before you. He then proceeded to perform all manner of miracles and wonders, so that there could be no doubt as to either his existence or identity. Then He informed you that the One True Faith was ISLAM; and that all must convert or suffer eternal damnation.

Would you repent and convert? Or would you still insist that you yourself knew, better than the Almighty Creator knows himself, what God's true purpose and intentions are and cling to your faith?

And if your answer is the latter, will you at last acknowledge what the rest of us have known all along -- that you're only talking to yourself, not God?

If you are Christian don't give me bible verses just describe your version of heaven okay please ? I have a BA in theology and I am an agnositc married to a witch - so just describe your thoughts on heaven.

Mine are that whatever you believe in whatever you give power to is the afterlife you are creating for yourself and that you should be very careful what you give power to in this phisical life.
I also believe that the universe takes our word for things "I am good I am bad" and responds to that not the details of who what or how it occered but what you thought and how others did because that affects how you percieve yourself so it becomes important not to allow others to affect you self image because you will internalise that and the universe will create it for you in this life and the next.
So those are my thoughts How about you?

Isn't it true that man has changed the bible?

I believe that it was once a message from god..

but the bible has been changed 100's of time...

why are their so many different bibles now? shouldn't there be only one?

I once went to the library to read the bible... but when i was reading i noticed alot it was a short description of some story or person... then it has a reference saying "to find out more read this book"... why there need to be one book is bible is the answer?

Why are there 100's of different versions of the bible and new version come out every month.... If bible is the truth then there should be one and it should have been original and not changed by man... because men would change the word of god to fit their needs?

The bibles i have read says on the cover by: Some Author...

To me these signs enough show me that if man changed bible then the true Christianity is changed by man too!
the bible was gods word but changed by man to fit their needs?

It appears that many of the laws in this book are now obsolete. Read about all the stuff about periods, handling meat, and a variety of other things. The reality is that many of these laws were made because people back then knew something wasn't right, but didn't know why (people usually got hurt or sick as a result of breaking these laws). Thus, God said it was immoral and put hefty punishments on it.

For example, when we discovered sanitation and why meat handlers and people that came in contact with them became sick, those laws were thrown out. Same thing with a woman's period. When we figured out what was going on there, all those laws were virtually tossed out. Or the law stating that women are not allowed to talk in church, that's thrown out too. So my ultimate question is, if it becomes scientifically proven that homosexuals are born gay, will that law be thrown out too or will it be another stalemate like evolution?

Dont call me shallow, or racist, because im right. If you acutally take the time to look, you'll notice that black people will cross the road where there isnt a crosswalk, but if they go another 10 feet there is. I have never seen a white person do this. And before you insult me, and call me racist, go into a city, and watch.

Why is it that Atheists don't beleive anything. Please don't give me a smart alec answer. But i really want to know...What does it hurt to at least beleive in God? If it turns out it really is a big hoax so what you died and its over for you anyway. If it is true then you have the comfort of knowing where you are going. Why not just believe?
