People refuse to believe that god is within because people are taught to rely upon exclusive divine revelations of spiritual knowledge that ideological authorities patronized by a mercenary plutocratic predatory few say are true before their own personal spiritual revelations. Limitations imposed upon divine inspiration by ideological authorities are responsible for people refusing to believe that god is within. Why limit access to divine inspiration? Why not think, believe and expect that access to divine inspiration is limitless? I theorize that the myth of limited access to divine inspiration reflects the need and aspiration of a mercenary plutocratic predatory few to maintain and achieve authority, power, order, and control by establishing ideological authorities as intermediaries between the profane and sacred: communities of faithful believers and god. Once authority, order and control are achieved and maintained the mercenary plutocratic predatory few may then patronize those ideological authorities that best motivate communities of faithful believers to out work, out fight, and out number the rest of the planet and thereby satisfy the need and aspiration of the state dominated by a mercenary plutocratic predatory few to achieve and maintain power. From claims of exclusive access to divinely inspired truth follows the power to make laws of God out of the laws of state. From claims of exclusive access to divinely inspired truth follows the power to make the idea of God into the ultimate state sponsored surveillance system. From claims of exclusive access to divinely inspired truth follows the power to define the meaning of life as a test of character and define the value of each individual according to their record of conforming to a standard of conduct established by a judgmental perfectionist god that is all-knowing, all-seeing, condemns the lawless to eternal torment, and rewards the lawful with eternal bliss. From claims of exclusive access to divinely inspired truth follows the power to control communities of faithful believers by employing fashion police to punish those who noticeably deviate from a standard of conduct dictated by fashion reality masquerading as discovery of spiritual truth. From claims of exclusive access to divinely inspired truth follows the power to motivate communities of faithful believers to out work, out fight, and out number the rest of the global culture in a race to win the game of survival and sacrifice.

Because the concept of god makes no sence.
God is portrayed in modern times as all knowing and all powerful.
Then why make flawed creatures that he knew would break the rules he gave them? Or did he NOT know what they would do? Then he's not all knowing and all powerful.
If you can explain that, then you have resloved one of the greatest questions people have had for centuries.

because they CHOOSE to. free will allows each to believe as they want. Refuse is a strong word. Force never works, only example and the Word of God. You choose whom this day you serve - you choose.

because there fear of the boggy man , and there own negative stuff..I'm all so afraid of certain reality's in side, but i keep hammering at then till i over come them.
all so they have been told for thousands of years the god is that thing with a beard that lives above the clouds...even though the astronauts , cant see him from the space station.
people are focused on the out side...like dangling a bright object in front of some one, keep their attention on the ego...out side actions.
goddess ...life force is every were like air... you don't have to go inside to contact it, but you do have to go inside to contact your soul. and some of the higher beings.

The Bible says that God lives within us. Our bodies are the temple of God. Jesus Christ lives within us.

It's very wrong to force people to believe what you believe. I'm lucky in the I have the right to believe whatever I want to believe.
If you try to force your beliefs on me, that makes you a religious extremist and no better than any other extremist out there.
So believe what you want to believe - just leave us out of it!!!
