How is this woman associated with solving some of the worlds most difficult problems...does she have inordinate amount of $$$(without her husband)...did she work for some Think-tanks, etc? Is she some sort of celebrity?

Other than she is married to Bill Gates, really, what does this woman bring to the table in the so called "Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation".

I see this nothing more than someone who is riding on someone elses coat-tails.

What do you see?

(August 14th) My husband is in Iraq, and I'm living with my parents (until her returns) in Venezuela and they are both away on business, so I am alone for my birthday! So hearing Happy Birthday from a bunch of strangers might make me feel better!

If you actually read the book, what did you think? What did you agree with in the book and what didn't you agree with? This is probably one of the most interesting books I've read in awhile. Written very intelligently.

Many theists I've seen on Y-Q&A, seem to think that being an atheist automatically means that you "believe in evolution". I'm an atheist that does not believe in evolution. I do however understand that there is clear evidence of micro-evolution, and there is no evidence of macro-evolution. That is why scientists call it the theory of evolution, and not the fact of evolution. They are still researching it. I also understand that intelligent design is not even a theory. It is presented as fact with no credible evidence accept a book written by believers. You either have faith, or you don't. Which is fine with me. I don't care what people believe, until they push their beliefs into U.S. funded public schools.

Creationism, & evolution are interesting man made beliefs and theories, but none have given us the answer to the origin of the universe, no matter how much you believe.

Do believers use faith for all of their facts? Or do any research atheism for themselves from atheist sources?

I'm sure I'm gonna regret this question in this category, most of all...
But here goes:
..hey--at least I'm not asking if Paris has a new song, & if anyone likes it!!
And I'm not even gonna ask your opinion about "Condie" , or her hairstyle, or alleged headache.....(PuhLEEEEZE!) And to be honest, I couldn't care less about your religious affiliation, sexual preference, or ethnic background.

I just wanna know----when is the last time you were nice to someone? For no other reason than that it felt good??!!

There are early versions of the Bible available in their original language - Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic. So many people are convinced that the original scripture has been tampered with but so few then take the time to research the original material. You can even get modern Bibles with the translations and dictionary sections included for those languages. I think you'll find that the meaning hasn't changed all that much. What's lost in translation isn't as signigicant as what you stand to gain. Can't devote that much time and effort? Try just one book or gospel.

Number of books and dictionaries define that “Helen was abducted by Paris and he took her to Troy.” But myth tells us that they were in love with each other immensely and it was she who provoked Paris to take her to his empire. Then how come her elopement is defined as “Abduction”?
