it's not exactly free- he gave us the ability to chose our own path but he also gave us consequences for our choices.
True free choice should not have consequeces as with them it's not really free.

Good question. I asked a question once about god and religion and all the answers said "free will". The christians used it to explain everything, so I'm interested to see how it gets explained in your question.

Off hand because the ARCH ANGEL ST. LUCIFER was supposed to be our planets GUARDIAN ANGEL but got a swelled head and lost a rebellion in heaven because he thought he could run heaven and creation better than GOD. So their was a vacancy which has been filled by a series of saviors. I was left up to us as to wither or not we would listen to these saviors or not.

Actually a good question. He gave us life, said believe in me, and wished good luck. And we are on our own in this life. A lot of people sit and try to divine God's will and perhaps they discover in their hearts what God would want them to to, but ultimately, it is their choice. We all must make our own way in the world.

You have a choice. You can choose what you want to do in live and so on.
But its not FREE it never will be free.
Everything you do has a consequence.
