Is it our duty as compassionate human beings to help our friends and relatives, or should we just sit back and hope their religious beliefs dont ruin their lives and the lives of those who love them?

the only real citizens that can't get "kicked out" are prolly the Native Americans...who have been here the longest. At the turn of the century lots of Irish and Italian people came to the US illegally. not all came thru ellis island. But they ended up contributing a lot to american society....and are now accepted, becuz in the end, they are of european decent, and are NOW considered WHITE.
That makes me think, perhaps this anger against today's illegal immigrants is a RACIST response...typical of conservative governments and of most american people.

Also, lots of racist sentiments were present against italians and the irish during the turn of the century up til the 1960s when the focus was shifted to african american's fight for civil rights.

the process is called "racialization" in anthropology....taking a new group, treating it as a different "race" for the purpose of alientating them and shutting them in deprived neighborhoods.
what do you think?
thanks for any responses.

now that he has been back for the same amount of time that he has been back he feels that when he gets married in oct 2007 he should be getting our daughter for over night visits. I have nothing against his future wife infact im happy for the two of them and she encourages him to see our daughter. but i have concerns of not seeing her again if she does go for an over night because his future wife is from canada and she has lots of family up there and since he is her father I feel that he can just get her a passport and take her.would you feel that way too? what would you do?

I'm too young to think about sex or birth, but i still think of stuff. What i wanted to know is even though a woman is the child bearer, there's no way to change that. So why then women become so selfish about it to where if they become pregnant they control two lives after that. They control the child's life and the men's life. Think aobut it, a woman can just get an abortion and it wouldn't matter if the father wanted to have the baby and raise him, pay for him. Same thing if the mother wants the baby, now the dad is screwed because if he doesn't want the baby, he still has to pay, and often way too much in child support. Women sometimes say a child would change their lifestyle, financially specially, well what about the men paying child support, their life is changed financially too, but that doesn't matter does it? Shouldn't child support be equal to what the government would pay per child through welfare?

If the Trinity was in fact true (i,e, Father (God), Son (Jesus), Holy Spirit; 3 in 1 & 1 in 3) why is it that a human can only receive salvation when he believes that Christ is his savior and not when he worships God alone when you say that both Christ and God are one in the same? Please, I ask this with only the intention of knowing the reasoning behind this, not to insult or provoke anyone; and please, no rude or hurtful bashing of Christianity or other religions.

It seems like the round table is a circle of great friends with like minda and have plaenty of shared experience. There may be a figurehead that has a position of the king, but is an equal. Why is this. Why a circle, why the trust, why the love bringing them higher. It seems they have such trust, if one grows they all grow because of love. Wouldn't camelot be a mythical zion? Where they're other mysteries hidden in that original story pertaining to celestial cycles? I invite you to look a little deeper. But your thoughts regardless.

Most sin in ways like: lying to your boss about why you didn't go to work last Friday or speeding on the highway. Are we really in the same boat when we die?

You hear more stories of people being raised from the dead, cripples walking, the blind seeing, in the poorest countries of Africa and Asia then you do in western countries with highly educated populations and skeptical press institutions. Western "faith Healers" often go to the poorest countries to rake in obscene amounts of money from those least able to afford it. Why? Instead of educating these victims, they are sent bibles. Instead of building world class Universities, they build Shady Bible Colleges. Instead of producing Doctors, Scientist and Engineers, they produce evangelist and Pastors to prolong the poverty and ignorance. Is this a crime against humanity?

Was Jesus a self-fulfilled prophecy in a way?
So did he grow up knowing he was God just from stories his mom and 'step-dad'(,adopted dad--not-necessarily-biological dad?) told him?

I don't think it's right to reproduce. It's not a good thing to plop a conscious, emotional being into this world. But what would make it a good thing, or at least a neutral one? Issues: pain, loneliness, predation, mistreatment, illness, hunger...death. Humans have tendencies toward behavior that makes the world a worse place (evolutionarily spawned behavior, granted). Many things we would have to be rid of to make the universe a good place, and to make us worthy to be there...what all are they, and are they do-able?

Acknowledging that there is no God, and that the universe is an accident, and that I am a product of Evolution, would the individual then have to face an authentic life?
What would this mean for the person? Would they have to solve all problems with human solutions? Would every cause have a natural explanation?

When something makes them sad, would they have to deal with it? Let me give you a real life example, a man emails me three days ago and says he is thinking about committing suicide. Since I knew he was a Christian I emailed what I thought was encouraging Bible verses. Rather than say dude, I love you bro, but you got to deal with life, did I cheat this man an authentic life? He asked if suicide was a sin that he could commit and still go to heaven, and while I emailed Judges 16:29-30 I said I still don't think this authorizes suicide. Did I do wrong? Should I have just said there is no God try and deal with it?
