This is done after a person dies to make the family feel better. Now, for the 144,000... If you study Revelation, this is the number of Jewish people who will realize that Jesus was the true Messiah (12,000 from each tribe). It is NOT the total number of people who get to heaven (no matter what the Jehovah's Witnesses say). Read Rev 7:9 ---a multitude which no man can number is MORE than 144,000. I am NOT saying everyone will be there, but it will be quite a crowd.

People are just trying to be nice... plus, we have no way of knowing either way. God judges the soul. Not everyone goes to Heaven... only those who believe in Christ. The 144,000 are Jewish people who will be sealed in the last day.... the number has nothing to do with how many will be in Heaven. As for the Earth, Jesus will rule on Earth for 1,000 years after the second coming and then a new Heaven and Earth will be created. One preacher said it will return to the way it was originally suppose to be... something similar to the Garden of Eden. A perfect place, with people who are in perfect harmony with God.

If only 144,000 get in and there are 8 billion people today so lets say 20 billion have lived during the history of the world. Give me my dollar back so I can play the lottery and have a better chance at winning.

I believe the only people that won't make it are the ones that even after death deny God. God loves all of us too much for anything else to be true.

The 144000 are the Jews from the tribes of Israel. Hell was not created from humans it was created for the devil and his demons. The hell that those who dint accept Jesus as Lord and Savior will probably be different. The Bible says the Devil will be destroyed and that those in hell will be tortured forever.

Now why does everyone say they are going to heaven when they dies is because even in death we want the best just like here on earth even when we dint deserve it.

Everyone gets judged in Heaven, but there are a lot of people that will certainly go to Hell. If you follow the Bible, live your life accordingly and believe Jesus is Savior and the Holy Trinity, you are going just as God promises. You need to get into a good Bible study to understand Revelation, it is complicated and cannot be read and understood from a basic point of view.

Do you consider yourself to be a good person? Most people do. However, most of us differ as to the definition of "good." Let's see if you are! Have you ever lied (even once--fibs, white lies, etc.)? Ever stolen (anything--the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Have you ever looked with lust? If you have said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart; and we've only looked at three of the Ten Commandments. That's how God sees you. Nothing is hid from His holy eyes. The Bible says that God will punish all murderers, rapists, thieves, liars, adulterers, etc. He will even judge our words and thoughts. On Judgment Day, will you be found to be guilty or innocent of breaking His commandments? God's Law demands justice, and the penalty for sinning against Him is death and Hell. . There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. Where are your beliefs leading you too? You know where! For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Repent and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for there is none other name under heaven given unto men whereby we can be saved. Jesus is the Way to heaven!

Because there is no hell we determine hell by how close or how far our actions make us to God, when we do positive actions we are allowed to reflect his light and be postive examples to men and women around us, there is no devil, society and people human beings our physical/animal(istic) body is satan. The same applies to death, if you lived a carnal lifestyle then your death is a reflection of how close you are to God in the next life. The only hell is having deprived yourself of progression, which is through mirroring the attributes of God.

The 144, 000 is a number that is actually standing with God in Heaven. It is the very highest of holy within The kingdom of heaven. It is not a number to explain how many people are going to heaven, and the rest will go to hell.

God loves us all and wants ALL of us in the kingdom of heaven with us. It will not be because there is evil in our world thanks to satan who wants some of our souls as well. He wants to play god in his own world.

However, we all have a chance to go to heaven, not just 144,000.. those are the highest to stand with god. Most people have a lot of good in them. I believe that most people I know will be with me in heaven.

Most people will not say someone is going to hell because it's not polite. Also, they have no way at all to know for sure(outsiders). Only God knows in the end.

everyone belives they are going to go to heaven because of what they are taught when they are young. In the Jewish religion it says that there is no hell. I prefer to think of it as heven and the not so good people get stuck in the waiting room.
