21, no job? Can;t he walk,? People were doing that long before cars came along. It's cheap and its good for the environment and your health, and it's not crowded. The last time I looked, community service could be provided at your closest convenient spot, water treatment, meals for the elderly, park clean up, painting, etc etc . If his parole officer is being unreasonable and requiring the guy to travel 50 miles you need to tell the court.

As for the no job thing, jeez, cant he mow lawns or sweep walks or walk dogs or wash cars? The only people who aren't earning money are the ones who don't want to. Yes, yes, there are people who don't have "good jobs" that want them, but if you want to work, there is always work to do. So tell him to stop whining, and get to work somewhere.

Meanwhile, there are shelters and halfway houses, and family, if he isn't a total ***, who will provide some temporary housing until he gets his act together.

dump this loser and move on. There are "bad boys" who are also good men.

Tell him to join a conservation core. Like in California we have the CCC. California Conservation Corps. You can burn off community service hours, be housed and fed and transported and have some good skills at the end.
Check with your state.

Then he should talk to his probation officer, or court appointed counsellor, and explain the situation. If he just doesn't turn up, he'll be in deep doo-doo. If he talks with someone about the situation, they may be able to work out a compromise.

Oh, yes. He can throw himself at the mercy of the court, but that doesn't work for long.

Oh yeh.. the law loves these guys.. totally at their mercy..of which, of course, they have none. It's just another of the many American tactics of slavery.

Sounds like he needs to grow up, and you need to raise your sights. You can do better than him! And don't give me that BS line, "I luuuv him!!!" There's a huge difference between real love and hormonal attraction.
