Most sin in ways like: lying to your boss about why you didn't go to work last Friday or speeding on the highway. Are we really in the same boat when we die?

Yes,If you die without Believing that Jesus is the Son of God and he Came here to Die on the Cross for the sins of the whole world, and you don't have him as you re personal Lord and savior, its the real LIFE insurance for you,and its a free gift to all of us,from God, all you have to do is pray and ask him in to your Heart and to be your Lord and Savior, that's it he will shape you re life little by little day by day, and then you know you will all ways have eternal life, forever no mater what.......If you have Jesus you have no more sin,its that simple he will forgive us as many times as it takes when we repent, its just when we get in we will wish we could have done more good than bad,But at least your all ways in heaven, and not hell...and when your tempted God all ways gives us a way out we Just have to ask to see it and try to do his will.....Fair well ..And Remember Jesus Loves you as much as everyone Else...

Human mind is limited in time and space, that is why most people admit that to err is human. The understanding about sin, hell, even life and death...varies so much among men today as well as among men in the past and in the future. Scientists are seeking for life in the outer space, and now they are confused about defining what is life.
If man is perfect, then he might be God. Therefore, if he realizes this fact, that he is nothingness before God, he should seek the guidance of God, the Omniscient, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.
Christ, one of the greatest if not the only greatest mind on earth, promised that if ye seek God and His justice, ye will find.
He also promised that at His second advent He would lead men to all truth.
So, if you sincerely think that you need a clear answer to any questions, please seek Him, because He will fulfil all promises as He did fulfil the promises of God in the Old Testament. God is also the Omnipresent. Please rethink.

Sin is sin no matter what that sin may be. The eternal consequences are the same. The earthly consequences may not be. But blessed is the man whose sins are not counted against him. Since Jesus took all of our sins, we are those blessed men (using the term meaning both men and women). Now it's up to us if we want to live or walk in that blessing or not.

Hell is determined by how close or how far you are to God in the next life, there is no "hell" or the precieved Chrstian hell, in this life the example we play to eachother as we are half animal with a soul inside of the animal body if you live an animal life of brutality, dominance, lust and so on it is reflected in the next life by having blocked yourself from mirroring Gods attributes. Hell is just being further from God through negative actions committed in this life. Even then the next life is spiritual, and the spiritual only bestows joy.

Unless you pray and ask forgiveness, yes. God knows what we have done, but He wants to hear us admit it, and by His amazing grace, we are forgiven. There is no small or great sin in God's eyes. He does not stand for any sin. But since we are covered by the Blood of Christ, we can ask our sins to be forgiven in Jesus' name. He told the apostles, the only way to the Father is by Me.

Im a Pagan and i beleive sin is a foolish concept invented by the fearful and gullible. If you are fearful and cowardly you may get destroyed. if you are smart enough to think for yourself and question what you percieve as the will of God you may not go to hell because you were smart enough to use your brain.

I think if you do what you think is right and treat others as you want to be treated you will be fine. Some religions use scare tactics and what not....but I think things like lying to your boss or speeding aren't going to condem you to hell...nobody is perfect.
