I don't think it's right to reproduce. It's not a good thing to plop a conscious, emotional being into this world. But what would make it a good thing, or at least a neutral one? Issues: pain, loneliness, predation, mistreatment, illness, hunger...death. Humans have tendencies toward behavior that makes the world a worse place (evolutionarily spawned behavior, granted). Many things we would have to be rid of to make the universe a good place, and to make us worthy to be there...what all are they, and are they do-able?

The sooner humankind realizes it's on it's own, the better.

I think if every person came to the realization that this life is all there is, there would be a worldwide concerted effort to make this life better and longer.

I believe in the duality of good and bad, meaning that to have one the other must also exist. If you never know pain, you never realize pleasure either. If there is no darkness, there's no light. We all sometimes wish for a life without pain, loneliness, illness, hunger, and death, but most often it's these experiences that define us and allow us to appreciate the good in our lives. Knowing what I know now, and given the choice, I would still chose to be born into this universe...exactly as it is.

I could answer with the macro reasons to have a child, the macro conditions that would be ideal, and I wonder myself this before and after the Birth of my son.

But I can only give you the micro reason, that my son who is now three years old, is a talking loving child.

He loves me and my wife and gives us hugs and that makes us feel so proud and happy and we know we made the right decision.

Just before he started the nap he is taking right now we got back from shopping and he helped by bringing in a bag of groceries and then carrying bags over to the refridgerator.

So, we have done well.

All you can do is weigh that between you and future wife or common law wife, wether you can do it for the right macro reasons, that you'll be there with that man or woman until they turn to themselves as an independent and come over to visit you.

Good luck!

Only Jehovah through his Son Christ Jesus will make this world a better place. Jehovah has always from the beginning intended for the earth to be a paradise filled with righteous people who worship him in unity. That is why Jesus said to pray for God's kingdom to come and do Gods will on earth the same as in heaven.
