When I heard this, I was about to cry. My parents were both born in Iran, so I'm muslim by my parents...but I don't believe in any of their rules or government. So please, no rude comments.

Here's the story:

A few days ago, a women tried sueing her husband. He had been abusing her, for who knows what reason. They went to court, and the court ruled in favor of the husband. They said that the the Quran states that a man can hit his wife whenever and however he wants. When I heard this, I almost cried. A women is allowed to get killed by his husband, and he doesn't even get put in JAIL! or charged of anything!

What do you think of this?

If you're under about 40 and live in North America, you may have a grandfather, father, or uncle named "Dick". But you certainly aren't named that yourself. And you probably don't know anyone your age or younger who calls himself "Dick". In fact, its a slang term for a body part, and is insulting when applied to people.

Because there are senior citizens and near-senior citizens you can use the name "Dick" without giggling, it seems obvious that this change occurred no earlier than the middle of the 20th century.

Can anyone provide more information on this change of meaning?

what will you do if you just moved to a ghetto neighborhood with your mother and you hate it but your mother doesn't want to move and you are only 17 years old?.

Has any ever tried to learn two languages at the same time? If so how difficult was it to keep them apart. I am thinking that taking two germanic languages (one through classes and one self taught) might prove to be a bit difficult. Any SERIOUS thoughts?

She was attacted with a girl.I was a friend at the begining.Itold her it's not good,it'll not work etc.She understood.We'er so close to each other.We shared everything.She became normal.Her results became good.Suddenly I felt I'm in love with her.I was so frustrated cause I'm a normal girl & I know my boundaries & responsibilities.I'm very rational but I just could not stop loving her.A wrote a long letter to her mentioning whole thing.Then she told me she feels the same thing but didn't tell me cause she afraid she'll loose me.Both of us tried very hard not to love eachother,not to think about each other,even went to a psychologist but we failed.Cause we truly love eachother.We're so happy.After 5yrs of relationship we feel the same love which we felt b4 5yrs.Sometimes when I told her about reality she became crazy.I realise she'll die if i support reality.God'll never except this relation but will god forgive me if i leave her?How'll i live without her?What'll happen to my dad?

Dischristianestablishmentitarianistic-without automatically being considered Devils Food by religious types. I mean think about it-The Bible refers countless times to Gods Chosen Flock and this to me is nothing more than prejudice propensities-I will not accept a religion that condemns any of my fellow earthlings to HELL-because I love life and I enjoy living life with you-NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE-I love diversity and could not condemn a muslim or Jew or a Yahoo even-because without you my life would be dull and void of diversity-I can not accept membership into your religious order because it is based on CONDITIONAL LOVE-Love your God or Burn-nope-sorry-to do so is to be like your God who admittedly Is A Jeolous God-his bad not mine-but because I am in Love with life and work hard at trying to make this world a better place I want a name that is more positive-rather than automatically condemns me in Your Book-any suggestions? When on public transport, or when stood in a queue, it really grates on me that their label is sticking up on their neck. Would you/should you tell them? Not everyone wants to know the washing instructions or the size of the person.

As a courtesy, at the gym where I exercise, you're supposed to clean off the machines you have just used so that other people don't have to deal with your sweat. There are spray bottles of cleaner and towels all over the place.
Today, there was a lady on a treadmil near mine, and when she finished she just got off it, and went to another piece of equipment without cleaning it off. It was so gross--I could see her sweaty handprints all over it! Yuck! She didn't clean off the second piece of equipment she used, either.
I wanted to say something to her, but I didn't know what, and I didn't know if I should. It just grosses me out. There have been times when I have gotten onto a treadmill that was still dirty, and it's disgusting.
What could I politely say the next time I see somebody use equipment but not clean it?
BTW, nobody came along to use her abandonded treadmill, so when I got done I cleaned it.

Many Christians have accepted birth control, in vitro-fertilization, homosexuality, divorce, relativism, and new age ideas. No Christian would have done this before the 20th century.
Protestantism in particular has caved in and to these evils that offend and goes against the will of God.

I want to say that paper doesn't exist and just because I believe that, I want you to believe thatas well, just going by me, not researching it for yurself. Now, Let's get to the Truth, God in Fact, does exist and just because others do not believe that doesn't make it untrue. How can opinion undo what is true? It can't. Instead of arguing and insulting believers on this site, use your time wisely and read up on it. Many people will have varied opinions on this topic, but John 8:32 states "You shall know the Truth and the Truth shall make you free" Bless you in your searching.
