In America another term for raining is pouring, or spitting. What are some other terms used in other English speaking countries.

A term that is often used is - "It's rain cats and dogs" when the rain is really heavy. Not quite too sure why!

There is an old joke that goes something like this...

Man 1 - "It's raining cats & dogs outside."
Man 2 - "How do you know?"
Man 1 - "Because I've just stood in a poodle!"

Boom Boom - (The old ones really are the best!)
