Hispanic is a perfectly valid word. If your question sounds racist, someone might report it. But not just for using the word "Hispanic".

I adopted two little mexican boys, they prefer to be called mexican than spanish, because spanish people are from spain and Mexican people are from Mexico, and it is a weird thing about the cultural aspect to it. Hispanic is a very casual word, and if the question is kind, it is a good word to use. my boys do not know spanish, but if we are in the store, and hear Mexicans talking, we ask them what they are saying, just to tease them, but we will put them in spanish once they get in to middle school. I feel they need to know their culture.

"Hispanic" merely refers to a group of people. You could be reported for anything of course, but Yahoo! only takes action if you violate the terms of service.

That depends on how you pose the question. If you are asking about the Hispanic culture, no I don't think so. If you are "judging" or "categorizing" hispanics then you probably will.

Cause there are people out there who cannot handle the fact that they are labeled and they want to be known as a certain group..particularly a group pertinent to their origin..I'm white but that don't make me European or Caucasian now does it?...take it with a pinch/ bucket of salt!
