I not to long ago came from a comedy show where all the comedians were black ....the crowd was prodominantly black, and we had a few white people in the crowd, well of course their were racial jokes but none that were demeaning, basically ones that picked out our differences.....black people were talked about as well, and other races to, but not in a demeaning way, just pointing out our differences? holla back!

Some Christians think atheists are bitter(which is not true). Just like some alcoholics think sober people are bitter. Could it be because some Christians have to depend on god to be happy? Isn't that how drug and alcohol addicts are? Alcoholics think they have to depend on alcohol to function. Lots of Christians are the same way about god.

I was at a grocery store standing in line for my groceries and this indevidual was standing in front of me while reading a book. The line move a little so I wanted to tell the indevidual that the line was moving. so I said " Excuse me sir, the line just moved." The person looked back at me with a mean face. At that time I just realized she's a WOMAN!! How do I get out of that situation if I mistaken for sex on another person again? She got very short hair and I think she's a lesbian.

My co-worker's wife is having surgery this coming Monday, The surgery is relatively minor, but she will be incapacitated for a month or 2 (foot surgery). In a friendly sort of gesture, I would like to take over a little "something" to say "wishing you a speedy recovery." My co-worker is kind of an old school southern man, so I think he and his wife would appreciate the gesture. Should I take over some sort of entree ( casserole, lasagne, etc), or a nice home made pie (pecan, apple, etc)?

In any given movie, the men in long sleeve jackets make one think it was filmed in winter. The women standing right next to them make one think it is the peak of summer in Death Valley. Why do women let this happen? What is the psychology of it, and how can we be more equal? Don't others want it more equal??

does he really want us to stone sinners, cut off our right hand for sinning (i realize some stories in the bible are fables). so if we don't want to cut off our right hand or whatever, we just classify that lesson as a fable and interpret the verses as a metaphor for something else?

i believe that the bible is a remarkable collection of historical documents that should be studied by everyone.

i'm not attacking the bible. i'm expressing my conflicts and i appreciate getting others perspectives. thanks :)

It just seems like some people, like in particular on here tonight, are so wrapped up in what happened hundreds of years ago that they can't understand that they are their ideals worst enemy. They make a big deal out of race, which in turn makes people have a negative light on that race because they over analyze and complain and whine when they have more organizations, scholorships, schools and clubs that are for blacks only then any other race. What about the movies and music that is made by people in their own race that glorify greed, crime, and sex? Yet, they point the finger at the neighbors instead of fixing their own household. Are people who are into Black Power not any better then the KKK or Aryan Nations guy who is into White Power? I think they are both crazy and need some serious attitude adjustments.

Im looking into buying a house for the first time and I am intrested in this really nice 5 bdrm. house that the previous owners were murderd in by the husband who then killed himself in the master bedroom. All the neighbors whom I've talked to said people have moved in the house and very quickly moved out saying it was haunted. This house is the best one I've seen and the most affordable. Should I buy it?

I assume that the African American women who are on yahoo answers are of some intelligence and could give me insight into the world of black women. I am an African American female, I grew up in a very diverse neighborhood. I did not socialize a whole lot with blacks because there wasnt many. I do not have a black culture and do not understand alot about black women. I consider myself to be an American and human.. I trully only see color lines with African Americans. I recieve so much attitude and blatant hatred towards me based on the way that I carry myself. I do not understand the basis of this behavior. I know some is due to ignorance but to most I believe it to be based on intimidation. What do you think? Its a question that puzzles me .. even into my adulthood?
