When Jesus starts to convict you of your sins you are made aware of your sin. This is the love of Christ penetrating through to your soul. If you ever become convicted of your sins then a great draw will be tugging on your heart to repent and except Christ's forgiveness. When this happens and you repent( true repentance consist of making a statement to God that you are aware that you have sinned against God and that you accept Jesus as your Savior) and then you truly try to stay away from your sins and if you slip up, you repent again and ask His forgiveness and stop committing the sin.

Only God can cleanse you and give you the strength and wisdom to combat sin. There is an spiritual Amour that God give us to put on and wear daily to combat sin and temptations.

Read Eph 6:11-18
Here is the Full Armor of God : gird your loins about with Truth and have on the Breastplate of Righteousness, And your feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace,Above all taking the Shield of Faith and with this you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked, And take the Helmet of Salvation and the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, and praying always with all of the prayers and in all the supplications of the Spirit.

That was paraphrased a little but you can read it in full at the above scripture that I indicated.

Yes, you most certainly can. As a Christian we are continually learning more accurately what sin is. Believing that Christ died to redeem your sins is no small thing in one's life and probably will prompt you to want to understand what sin is.

The simplest way to describe sin is 1) Going against God and 2) selfishness.

You may become surprised at what is selfish as you delve into morals and doctrines of the Church.

Furthermore, you are saved because you trust Christ can redeem your sins. But this is a trust you must place in Jesus everyday, unless you join a church that teaches the 'once saved always saved' doctrine, in which case don't worry, you are guaranteed heaven no matter what you do.

For a much larger part of Christendom you must everyday look for your salvation from Christ. Believe in Him and allow His works to be accomplished through you. This is easily done by just loving Him enough to follow Him.

It is long road. It lasts a lifetime and you will never have a day where you have learned enough. If you have any specific questions, please email me. Thanks.

Sin is a willful transgression agains the known law of God.
As humans, I know each person on Earth has sinned. You tell a lie, steal, are mean to your sibling or neighbor, call the bully a name, you cheat, whatever. It all messes up your relationship with God, who's too Holy and Perfect to allow sin in His presence.

Consider this: If the room you are in is lit, then the whole room can be lit. You can't have darkness in it. You can't just bring in darkness. It's not physically possible. In the Old Testament, the Jews carried around the Ark of the Covenant, in which the Spirit of God resided. It fell one time, and one of the guys there tried to catch it, to keep it from touching the ground. He died. It just wasn't physically possible for him to touch the presence of God and withstand the awesomeness, holiness, and power of God and live.

Can you withstand the awesomeness, holiness, and power of God and live without God's grace and Jesus' blood covering you and cleansing you?

Yes, if you accept that Jesus died for the sins of man and that you are included- and that without Jesus you will not have eternal life, you can be a Christian without knowing what sin is.

However, since you are old enough to form a thought, you should know what a sin is- repent for the ones you have commited (and if you like I can define repentance for you too!)- "accept" Jesus as your only link to heaven and get baptized. You can think about it and get back to Him, He will be waiting!

No. When you come to understand that sin is the awareness of what you do that damages yourself and others and strive not to that thing, then you become a brother/sister of Christ. You then become called, what you do with that is your own choice. We are not automatically saved. It's what you do with what you know to be true once your eyes are opened.
For some, not knowing would be better, God will not punish those that do not know better.

Yes you can accept Christ but first you have to understand what sin is ,after that you confess your sins .You are saved because the blood of Jesus was shed so that whoever knows that he or she sinned would be forgiven right away,if you just confess that you are a sinner .

God has built in you a conscience. He gave you a brain. You know right from wrong. Stop making excuses and do something about it!

EDIT: Sin is willful disobedience to God. It is the transgression of divine law.

The simple definition of sin is an act that injures, you, someone else, or God. It can be extended to cover your treatment of animals (and does so in the Hindu faith).

Of the Ten Commandments one is “Thou shall not covet thy neighbor’s goods.” It may be wrong to think it, but it really isn't a sin until you ACT on it. By telling someone that you want his stuff or if you try to steal it, or in anyway show that you covet his or her goods.

Christ did not die on the traditionally shaped cross is indicated by the Bible itself. It repeatedly tells of his dying on a tree, the Greek word being xylon. (See Luke 23:31; Acts 5:30;10:39.)

Xylon simply means “timber,” and “by implication a stick, club or tree or other wooden article or substance.”That is why the Gospel writers all use xylon to refer to the staves or clubs that the mob carried when they came to take Jesus. (See Matthew 26:47, 55; Mark 14:43, 48; Luke 22:52.)

By saying that Christ died on a xylon these indicated that Christ died on a timber, a piece of wood.

Thus the apostle Paul states that Christ became a curse to those under the law by being fastened to a xylon, since “Accursed is every man hanged upon a stake [xylon].”

Paul was there quoting from the law of Moses, which required that the bodies of executed criminals be fastened to a tree or stake as a warning and which meant that they were cursed by God.—Gal. 3:13; Deut. 21:22, 23, NW.

Sin is anything not in harmony with or contrary to, God’s personality, standards, ways, and will; anything marring one’s relationship with God. I

t may be in word (Job 2:10; Ps 39:1), in deed (doing wrong acts [Le 20:20; 2Co 12:21] or failing to do what should be done [Nu 9:13; Jas 4:17]), or in mind or heart attitude (Pr 21:4; compare also Ro 3:9-18; 2Pe 2:12-15).

Lack of faith in God is a major sin, showing, as it does, distrust of him or lack of confidence in his ability to perform. (Heb 3:12, 13, 18, 19)

Human sin causes division between God and man, for Jehovah does not approve of sin.

The breach between man and his Creator could be healed only by fulfillment of the requisite of a true “covering,” or atonement, for such sin. (Isa 59:2; Hab 1:13; Eph 2:3)

But Jehovah God has made reconciliation between himself and sinful mankind possible through the perfect man Jesus Christ.

Thus, the apostle Paul wrote: “We are also exulting in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.” (Ro 5:11)

To come into Jehovah’s favor, it is necessary to accept God’s provision for reconciliation through Jesus Christ.

Only by this means is it possible to come into a position comparable to that of Adam prior to his sin. God’s love is displayed in making such reconciliation possible.—Ro 5:6-10.
