In any given movie, the men in long sleeve jackets make one think it was filmed in winter. The women standing right next to them make one think it is the peak of summer in Death Valley. Why do women let this happen? What is the psychology of it, and how can we be more equal? Don't others want it more equal??

I would like it if we met in the middle, with more male skin showing and less female skin showing. I would like that sense of reality that both genders like sex, not just men. I feel misunderstood, even to the point that maybe society expects me to be lesbian, or at least bi-sexual, because my USA culture causes me to view so much more female flesh than male flesh, just to get to the story line in common "family" entertainment. I have no idea where to begin to attain such equalization of attitude, however, and would like to ask for ideas.

OMG there is a person who thinks like me out there lol I am so ashamed of the women in movies and even musicians these days I mean are the men so shallow that women need to be half naked to be sexy or play major roles?? My bf and I argue over movies with naked women bcuz I am jealous yes I am lol but it goes beyond that I am just tired of not having a equal go at seeing a naked guy on tv too I mean everywhere you look there are naked women or revealing stuff shown about them I am not bi or les and I am tired of seeing it and it makes women look like that is all we have to offer too .. even though brokeback mountian was about 2 guys it made my bf feel like I do daily for the time we watched it :o)

The bigger question is why do we view nudity, male or female especially in the United States as wrong or indecent? Personally, I'm a bit prudish about my body because I've allowed myself to gain a few pounds. But, I don't view it as allowing anyone to tell me that it's something to be ashamed of. Things that upset my sensibilities are: a starving, malnourished child; a woman battered mentally, physically as well as emotionally; guns blasting in a crowd killing many; persons being persecuted because of their race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religion. The showing of those should be offensive to us. In Europe, you see women body parts as well as men on tv and their crime rate is so much lower than the U.S. The common bond between all of us is that we are human with human anatomies. When we see a womans "breast" in America on tv..we freak out. Isn't that a source of life for the human race? We make that appear nasty and disgusting but, we show AK47's, Mack 10's, and all other types of weapons being flashed across the tv screen and that's ok. I just don't understand how our concept of "beauty" and what's right and wrong got so mixed up. If we took away the negative connotation of who and what we look like perhaps the crime rate would go down. Showing the body as it is and not making it seem like something that is not to be revered or to be objectified then I believe we would evolve into a much better species. Wouldn't make a bit of difference if she were half naked and a butterball and he was a fine naked studely stud muffin! lol If the story line was good...the state of dress or undress would only be a part of telling the story.

What do you mean "wake up"? Are you just now realizing this?? I agree with you, It is completely sexist. What I hate the most is, When what would have been a good movie,Throw in **** for no apparent reason. Know what I mean? Boom! There they are. Personally, I think movies should leave more to the imagination when it comes to sex.If you want to see it. Watch a porn flick. We live in such a sex crazed world. It is beyond ridiculous.

What is the problem here? Like many males, I like looking at attractive eye candy in movies. If women felt the same, I am sure that Hollywood would make it more equal.

I really dont think the amount of clothes we're wearing makes us any less than a man. Women are beautiful creatures, most are proud of that and flaunt it. I dont think a man could get away with wearing a teddy bear.. what do you think?
