My brother and his fiancee are huge Star Trek fans. They met at a convention 3 years ago and are totally into the whole Trekkie phenomenon. I am my brother's best man, which I am absolutely thrilled about as we are very close.

My problem is that I don't want to wear a Star Trek uniform to the wedding. The whole wedding party is supposed to dress in these costumes. In 10 years, I think that they'll agree it's as ridiculous as I think it is now. Can you imagine the wedding album?

I can't talk my brother out of this, and I don't want to give up being his best man. What should I do?

OK you don't believe in god. But the majority human sense of morality comes from religion even if it was human fabrication. Yes, there are religious wars but in times of peace would not the absence of religious morals cause anarchy. There is crime but there is also majority of good people who donot commit crime because of their own sense of religious morality which stops them first not because of law. Law enforcement reaches after the crime is commited. Our laws of not to kill, steal etc have some religious background. How can human society exist in the complete absence of religion? A lot of laws would have to be struck out for nonbelievers! There are some sick ppl out there.. would you be willing to tolerate cannibalism reverting to nature survival of the fittest? Even if god is an illusion why remove the placebo effect. It won't work with all knowing the absence of god!

If god created man in his own image, then we must assume 2 things. 1) god is good 2) god is evil. Man is both good and evil and becasue god created man in his own image, god is good and evil. Don't forget what it says in Genesis about god flooding the earth. He murdered everyone on the planet excepth NOAH. That sounds pretty evil to me. How bout you?

It is a valid question.

And would you leave your homeland, hometown to live there?

You'd probably just be good buying your own island, I guess?

In the cartoon advertisements for Sea Monkeys — found in 1970s comic books next to ads for X-Ray Specs and trick soap that turned hands black , the creatures looked like a 1950s TV family.

The husband occasionally carried a briefcase and tousled the kelpy hair of his young son. The blond-haired wife cradled an infant. But both the ad's blatant and subliminal cues were clearly keyed to pre-pubescent boys. The Sea Monkeys were naked. The woman wore no wedding ring and crossed her long legs seductively. The husband and wife wore the smiles of swingers.

Just maybe, you thought, if you saved up your allowance, you could grow a woman. She might be part monkey and live underwater, but still...

Why does the devil hate God, it doesn't make sense. What does Satan see that we don't. There has to be something God doesn't want us to know.

I mean people view life in different ways. To me living out your life is a personal thing, it cannot be shared. Advice and such can be offered but the actual process of living is yours and yours alone. Along the way it's like God allows you insight, little bits of valuable wisdom to reflect on the process, either the future or what you've passed. It could have been there all along and wasn't processed, but it seems as if God points it out to us as we age.
What's your idea of living life to the fullest?

I hate white kids who try to be black and/or like rap music
I hate kids who think that they are tough in general for no apparent reason
I wish I could step inside the octagon and pound each and every one of them one on one, and show them how un-tough they are.

For all of you who think that I am an adult, you're wrong. Also, for all of the assholes who think that I was picked on in any school, you're wrong, I was popular, but not a jock, nor asshole. I'm a 22 year old who knows what's realistic and whats not, and wants to put losers in their places.
