Yesterday, after a long fight with my son. He admitted that he has been doing some weed one of his friends gave him an unknown substance, powdery white that he snorted also. I was in total shock and disbelief, my husband of course had a fit when I told him. How else can I deal with my son..

He just started the 10th grade and is hanging out with bad kids.

Recently, I had to call out a friend who borrowed money for a house payment. She was mentioning buying items for herself and other people in front of me without paying me back for a year. I admit, I called her a user. She reacted in the following way:

- She said F you and sent me $50 and said "never talk to me again."
- She said she hates me and resents me.

What causes such reaction and why does it make me feel so guilty?

I feel like I am not taken serious by the way I get treated by the ones around me. Is there way I can change that? I have grown resentful towards a very close friend of mine because I really believe that she has no respect for me(I work w/ her). My mother smirks at everything I do or say (I still live w/ her). My friend Ashley insists over the phone that I drive up to North Carolina to spend time w/ her over there. I crashed my car the last time I attempted to drive up there to see her over a year ago. What do you do for self respect and what advice can you give me? Thanks I really appreciate it.

I think this as the worst possible thing anyone can do. Why can people take the life of another without feeling like it will ruin their own life?

i wouldn't ever think of commiting suicide, but i HATE my life! i was diagnosed with Social Anxiety Disorder, andi it's sooo hard to talk to people at school! i have almost no friends, i think like one good friend. i also have A.D.D., which can make me have embarrassing situations because i tend to be forgetful or clumsy, which then makes it worse for having S.A.D. and i feel like i just can't take it anymore! i was born in an extremely Christian family, and it's hard to meet my "holiness"" level, when i am a homosexual, and i cannot "change" my sexuality. it makes me cry so much and it just feels like life really isn't worth living sometimes!

what do you think? i have thought about it, and there is no way around it. everyone is selfish. but i don't think it's bad, i just think it is a truth.
example-a man jumps in front of a bullet and saves another's life. selfish? yes. he still did to make himself happy.
what do you think.

You go along with a crowd to watch “Return of the Killer Tomato That Devoured Cleveland.” As an example of the actor-observer effect, you are likely to believe that

a. Everyone else in the crowd is almost exactly as interested (or uninterested) in the movie as you are
b. The others are really interested in the movie, even though your main desire is just to be with the crowd
c. The others are less interested in the movie than you are
d. The people in the crowd will act much like the characters (including the monster) in the movie

I know that the actor-observer effect is the tendency to attribute internal causes more often for other people’s behavior & external attributions more often for one’s own behavior. Your an “actor” when u try to explain the causes of ur own behavior and an “observer” when u try to explain someone else’s behavior. We see other people as objects in our visual field & we tend to think that whatever we're watching is the cause of the action..

I am a teenager who wanted to do the work of Christ when I grew up. My uncle also once had a vision that I was weraing shepherd's clothing(or I would do the work of God). Recnetly, I felt that didn't want to do that when I grew up and just lead a normal life. Can't I change my future? Isn't it in my hands? I sometimes feel like a slave to God's will. Inasmuch as how much I wanted to do his work when I grew up and probably still do, I'm having second thoughts and feel like I should just lead a normal life. If I want to lead a normal life, then will my uncle's vision have to come true when I don't want it to come true? I have a little problem in my mind here and don't understand what I really want anymore. Please help me as I am scared to make a decision. (I have also thought of leading a normal life and after some years going to do God's work).

Does this make sense?

Are their people out there who are happy, not being happy? Now I'm not talking about a cynic, because I'm a cynic myself. But I do wanna find genuine happiness in my like.

I'm talking about the people who just seemingly are happy, being not that happy. Is this just the nature of some people? Or is it caused?

Does that makes sense? If not, just move on to the next question and don't bother making fun of me.

I'm not a realy girly girl. I was raised with 4 brothers. I like to fish. I love dogs and, really, all animals. I'm not much of a cook unless it's relatively easy. I work for a pest control company and find it very interesting (office manager). I'm not a kid person. I like to read some, not a whole lot. I'm not a gardner.
And I'm a little bit of a loner. I love to travel and have done quite a bit. My son is on his own now. Does anyone have any suggestions on a hobby or something to give my life some purpose?
Please keep your rude answers to yourself. This is a sincere question for the Yahoo Answers Community. Thanks.

I find it interesting that so often we get sick of other people. People we work with day in and day out tend to grate at us after awhile. We get sick of their personalities or sometimes even the way they carry their voice at the end of a sentence. Too much time with certain people can become fatal. Which leads me to wonder about the one person we spend ALL of our time with, ourselves. Do you ever get tired of hearing your own voice? Tired of your own personality? Obviously it wouldn't be something that would occur daily or weekly because then we would just change ourselves. But, on occasion, have you ever gotten sick of yourself?

I can tell you personally that I have. It might happen once or twice a year, but not often. I will hear myself talk or crack a joke and almost annoy myself. I am not necessarily talking about the kind of thing where you can just change who you are.

So lets hear it, do you ever get worn out with yourself?
