I find it interesting that so often we get sick of other people. People we work with day in and day out tend to grate at us after awhile. We get sick of their personalities or sometimes even the way they carry their voice at the end of a sentence. Too much time with certain people can become fatal. Which leads me to wonder about the one person we spend ALL of our time with, ourselves. Do you ever get tired of hearing your own voice? Tired of your own personality? Obviously it wouldn't be something that would occur daily or weekly because then we would just change ourselves. But, on occasion, have you ever gotten sick of yourself?

I can tell you personally that I have. It might happen once or twice a year, but not often. I will hear myself talk or crack a joke and almost annoy myself. I am not necessarily talking about the kind of thing where you can just change who you are.

So lets hear it, do you ever get worn out with yourself?

I have asked that same question many times in my life,
i was a young handsome strong, honest man, I had many good friends and co-worker over my work life, but just like you i began to question many things in life that i found annoying,
the way people repeated the same sayings that were in my mind very dumb. i became very upset with the ways of others and avoided them as much as possible, But,
then one day This one man had started his conversation with me and used a most stupid starting line, i jump in and said why the hell do you always start every story with that same dumb item?
He looked at me and said
" I'm sorry i wont do it again.!"
i was so embarrased i could have crawled under a table and stayed there untill everyone left.
He came over and again said he was so sorry he was such a pain in the butt,
I said i was sorry , i went to a councilor at my medical dept. and started a series of meeting with a shrink that opened my mind to all my reasons i was getting so bored with my way's and the ways of others.
It is a simple matter of realising how you got where you are and how and what you must do to go on.
In my case it was very simple. i never appreciated what i had and how hard i had to work to get it
after i was instructed on what i should do, it was a very easy from that day on. we all take our lives and friends for granted, and should never do it we should thank them in other ways by being understanding to all their frailities. the only reason i can give you becvause im n ot a shrink is it just that we are getting older,
dont worry it will get a lot worst if you don't do something about it. get some counciling.

YES! I'm like you, not often, but sometimes I just get sick of my personality and wish I could be more like my friend who is always carefree and wants to have fun. I am more of an organized, philosophic type of person and sometimes it just drives me crazy.

Absolutely. I think you would have to be quite a narcissist to not experience this at least once in a while.
