Yes, I think that sometimes they lack the courage to believe in something.How do you ever love or trust,heck even grow as a person if you are too cynical to just go on faith. (not restricted to a religious context either).If you are too cynical how can you possibly experience hope or have dreams don't they mean you would have to take actions based on optimism?

Yes. Your perspective on things can feed into how you react and this can cause what you assumed would happen. I also find that if a person is overly cynical it is difficult to hang out with them and stay in a good mood, so I would start hanging out with them less and less.
